2015 Novel & Short Story Writer's Market: The Most Trusted Guide to Getting Published Paperback – September 8, 2014

My two bibles as a freelance writer for 40 years, has always been the Writer's Market and this smaller Novel and Short Story Writer's Market (since this is my primary form of writing). It's indispensable when writing. How can you begin unless you already have an idea of where you can send it? I love writing...love everything about it. But let's be honest, it's about the money too. Freelance writing barely pays the bills most of the time, and I'm not going to ship out hard work unless I know what I will get back from it. This book tells you exactly what to expect, how long it will take, and who will likely buy what you have. I highly advise any writer who specializes in short stories to purchase this book. If you've never been between it's pages, get it. It will have what I know you need :)

To have to wait half a month for a book to arrive? And again I am waiting for an other book to arrive! And Amazon pushing for Prime? with the little I can buy? Yea, the book is very good. There are a lot of articles advising how to become a better writer. That is depressing and put you back at editing and rewriting unless you have an ego like BHO.The book has a scratch-off code for a year subscription of internet tools, to help keep track of submissions and contacts. But I didn't get to that; there is so much stuff to go through in such small font with symbols to avoid more text. Yea its a book to keep you busy for a year or more.

It's a good resource for writers as usual but there seems to be a new format where all types of magazines are listed together alphabetically instead of breaking the mags down like they used to with the literary mags, small circulation mags, online markets and consumer magazines. It used to be much easier to find the magazine markets I write for, which has changed in this 2015 volume.

As a writer who is new to the process of submitting my work to be considered for publication, I am getting solid practical information by reading and using this book. It also came with a free subscription to the website, nice. The chapters are written concisely and with a touch of humor. The book also has a wealth of information about how, where and when to submit work.

This book is a good source book for writers' resources such as publisher and agent lists with detailed information. It covers much more, including tips on writing for the different genres.

One of my best friends both for the chapters of advice and the thorough listing of potential publishers. Some of the statistics on individual publishers can't even be found on the publishers' websites. Do yourself a favor and couple it with the companion 2015 Writer's Market for more excellent advice, even if you are experienced.
