This is a shortened and simplified version of Round the World in Eighty Day targeted at ESL students (English learners). This book uses a restricted vocabulary of 2200 headwords which puts it one level below the top level of this series of Penguin Readers.This series has a vocabulary range from approximately 300 to 3000 headwords. For stronger ESL students, a better choice might be the Oxford Progressive English Readers series which has a range from approximately 1000 to 5000 headwords.
