How many watts is the 12 inch ?

Thinking they have the information wrong, the unit is 110 volts, but it’s listed at 7 volts, I am assuming they mean it is 7 watts.

Is this a fire hazard?

Not at all. The rod gets to about 120degF according to my infrared temp gauge. Paper burns at 451degF. For some people 120degF is not that hot to the touch

Can this be used Under a bed?

Yes, I may be used under a bed, in a closet, inside piano or gun safe. Basically anywhere you want to use heat and reduce humidity.

I just bought one of the 12" and installed it in my small safe (12 sq. ft.). it's not even close to120 degrees. Is it supposed to warm the contents?

My dehumidifier tube is running at 122 degrees F when I put a instantaneous temp probe on it. It is suppose to raise the air temp slightly above ambient temp to reduce the chance moisture on the guns. The guns barrels with in less than an inch from the tube don’t appear to be any warmer than any other guns. I have a battery operated hygrometer/ thermometer with my guns and it reads about a degree warmer than the outside air and about 28% humidity compared to about 30% outside.

Consistent Humidity Control At A Great Price

Great build quality, competitive pricing, warm to the touch when operating, well packaged for shipment. Hardest part of the install is threading the 110VAC power cable through your safe to an outlet or extension cord. You might have to drill an access hole. Keeps my humidity levels consistently between 50 - 60% RH which is perfect for my 'sporting equipment'.
