While the warranty says it's for restaurant use and void if used in a home, the reviews from pressure canner users was very encouraging. I am Very glad I bought this - it works super well with a pressure canner. It does Not get hot underneath, but I set it on a 1-inch thick cutting board to protect the table surface just to be on the safe side. The seller packed the product with styrofoam supports and a thick cable tie to hold the burner in place, and it arrived in mint condition. I would Definitely recommend this for the home canner.

In our home we purchased, a microwave was put in above the burners. This does not leave room for my pressure canner. I saw this burner recommended someplace and opted to take a chance. I also purchased a silicone mat (just to be safe) and put it under the burner. Once it gets up to temp and pressure it is hard (or I haven't figured it out yet) how to get the pressure to lower to the exact spot where it needs to be, so my pressure is a bit higher, but I haven't seen higher being a problem vs too low. This works for me and I am now canning away on my island! Extremely happy with this purchase!

I bought this because my worthless induction stove won’t work with my All American canner. I did a lot of research to make sure I bought a hot plate that could hold the weight of the pot fully loaded. This product is perfect! Since it’s portable I can put it on a rolling island and keep it close to the cooktop so I can easily work. The first time I used it I kept it running all day.

I purchased the Cadco CSR-3T Hot Plate with high hopes, but my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. Within less than a year of purchase, this hot plate stopped working, leaving me frustrated and inconvenienced.The build quality of the Cadco CSR-3T seemed decent upon initial inspection, and it did its job reasonably well during the first few months. However, its sudden failure has left me questioning the reliability and longevity of this product.I had expected a hot plate to be a reliable kitchen appliance, but the Cadco CSR-3T proved otherwise. The heating element simply gave out, and there was no way to fix it. This not only disrupted my daily cooking routine but also cost me extra money in having to replace it.In conclusion, my experience with the Cadco CSR-3T Hot Plate has been marked by bad luck and disappointment. It's a product that failed prematurely and left me with a sense of regret for the investment. I cannot recommend this hot plate to others, as it's simply not worth the money for its lack of durability.

I purchased this for my 73 year old mother to do her canning. She doesn't like anything and did not believe this would work. Today she used it for the first time and was very impressed. She loves it. She knows A LOT about canning and the correct way to do it and she said this burner is fantastic. Everything about it. She gives it an A+ and recommends if you're looking for a burner this is the one. Temperature control was the main concern and this product performed perfectly.

You need to put something underneath this to not damage your counter. I put a cutting board under it in case, and it melted the board some. Other than that it works great for canning.

Bought this to use when canning. Finally decided on this model of Cadco after much research and reading reviews. Glad I spent the extra time researching, as this portable burner is heavy duty and can handle to large canning pots. The temperature control works well and like that lights on the front show when it is actively heating and another to show that it is receiving power. It does cost a little more than some of the other Cadco models, but it is a better model if you are purchasing for canning.

Bought this to use with my new Presto 16 Qt Pressure Canner. A $200 hot plate is much cheaper to replace than a $2000 glass top stove. The Cadco CSR-3T 120 volt hot plate has sufficient power to operate the pressure canner with ease and maintain a stable temperature. If you have a glass top stove and want to can food, the Cadco hot plate and Presto 16 Qt Pressure Canner is a good combo! 😊
