Yuck!
It had a really nice picture but I should have know better! This is a plastic piece of junk. It came a in shabby box that was torn up and it does not look like it will last very long. The middle hinges are already starting to break and we have not used it yet. VERY POOR QUALITY!

Super cheap. If your on a budget just get a piece of cardboard. Almost guaranteed to break
Updated:Board is super cheap. A simple light drop caused the board to shatter. You're better off buying a cardboard setOriginal:This set is perfect if you want a chess board that doesn't take a lot of room and has simple looking pieces. I like that it came with plastic bags to separate the pieces. I found that when opened the board lined up with the other half perfectly and there were no issues of not being level through the board. The hinge felt sturdy enough. However, there is no locking mechanism to make sure the board doesn't open on its own so make sure you keep the box for storing it. You will want to keep it in the box anyway as the board is very glossy and scratches easily.One thing I didn't think about:I play with my daughter who's still learning. Occasionally she'll get over excited and maybe knock down a few pieces making a move. the pieces are very light. While sturdy enough, it doesn't take much force to knock them off their spaces. I think I may glue some magnets to the bottle of the pieces and the underside of the board to make it a bit harder to move unintentionally. There are chess sets that are made for travel that come with magnets to keep them in place. If you're looking to travel or play with small children that is something to consider. Otherwise this is a great board for playing on solid ground.

very nice set
the box it comes in is pink i was less than thrilled with that as i bought it as a gift for a boy so im hoping he wont freak out on me lol otherwise the set its self is really pretty the board is so polished and the pieces are nice
