Easy to use
I have one of the cars that has no gas cap (thanks Ford). What were they thinking? With gas prices really high I felt the need to make it harder to steal my gas. This cap snaps right in to place easily. No annoying screwing it in. The keys fit in either way so that makes it easy too. It's not theft proof IMO as it is made of something other than steel. Some sort of composite material. But it will at least deter the thieves hopefully.

Fit well
Fit right in, rather small but has to be.Have to use key to lock it, bigger ones usually just to unlock.

Works perfectly on 2018 Explorer
With the increase in gasoline prices and general lawlessness these days, I decided the unlockable gas cap cover and NO gas cap on our 2018 Ford Explorer was just plain ridiculous. This solved that problem. Fits perfectly, and would be at least SOME deterrent to a gas thief or vandal. A little difficult to get the key in unlock position when it’s on a crowded key ring, but that’s on us, not this product.

Does what it's supposed to. Could be a bit better.
It does what it is supposed to do fairly well and I mostly have nitpicks. It has no means to actually stay anywhere when you remove it to fill your gas tank. There is no place to set a cap in the car's own cover since it's intended to be capless. Ideally it should have a small cord attached to it that you could loop over the gas compartment and this would work great, but of course it does not. I drilled a small hole and ran some twine through and looped that over which works great, but ideally a product should not require drilling. As a more minor nitpick, it's kind of annoying that you can't take the key out while it's in the unlock position. That means you have to have the key in while you're putting it into place too and can't simply set it in place and then lock. It seems minor, but I have the key on my keychain as I imagine most people would probably do and that means extra steps each way and it's harder to just set down (or let hang loose after I added a cord to it.)That said, everything else about it works fine. It fits right into place easily with no troubles with the fit. When you lock it it stays in place very securely and does not shake around or anything like that. I don't really understand the choice to have no gas cap or locking mechanism on the flap itself such that just anyone can gain direct access to your gas tank, so I consider this to be a necessity regardless of those minor nitpicks. Perhaps I'm just less trusting of people than Ford, but I really don't want to find out the hard way that someone has stolen gas or pranked me or something. A simple locking mechanism on the cover itself is normally sufficient and so simple I've seen cars from the 90s and early 2000s with it, but they did not include one in this and several other models, so I consider this locking cap to be a necessity these days for these vehicles and definitely recommend it. You may or may not want to drill a hole and add twine to hold it in place more conveniently when filling gas.
