This is a great curry sauce. It is very spicy, but also flavorful. It is perfectly balanced between mouth heat and flavor. I lived for years in South Asia and the Middle East, and this is the most authentic jar sauce that I have found on the North American market.

Okay - this is not going to be like eating a Ghost Pepper off the plant. Mr Kooks puts this together in a per-configured serving that is spicy for spice novices. BUT for folks who like spicy food this is just a little notch higher.It is not uncomfortably hot.It is simply very spicy. I enjoyed my first serving and went back for more. Could I have done that if I had used a full ghost pepper fresh off a pepper plant, not likely at 1+ million scoville. But thats okay. Someone has gone through the process of chopping that crazy hot pepper for me. Meaning my fingers won't be on fire and I won't accidentally touch my eyes.Solid curry with a great kick. I’m writing this in defense of Mr Kooks. Every several months, a new “hottest pepper on the planet” emerges and takes the title. Soon after, the chili-heads-of-the-earth converge and begin to out-sweat and out-puke each other in an attempt to take the Grand Chili Head Title of the Year title. Meanwhile, the fact that these new chili varietals actually have great flavor and complement other foods and dishes quite well gets overlooked, and Mr Kooks gets a bad wrap for making something delicious instead of something that will compel you to urgently leave the dining table in search of something made of porcelain with a drain at the bottom.This sauce aptly fits that description. WOW, is this delicious. And at $7.xx/bottle, isn’t a bad deal either. I just added a bottle to 5 cooked cups of jambalaya rice with roasted chicken and can confidently say this is the most delicious thing I’ve made this week. Thank you Mr Kooks! Hopefully you will figure out how to capitalize on the hot pepper trend without ticking off people who would rather vomit after their meal than enjoy it.

The thing about this sauce is that the head is different from one jar to the next. The first time I had it, it was spicy and flavorful, hot but not crazy. The second jar was so hot I could not eat it after half my meal....I eat hot food almost every day. This was the hottest thing I have ever had. So obviously there is a quality control issue with this product and its a crapshoot on what you get from jar to jar.

This is spicy, but not overwhelming. The blend of other spices is warm and amazing. I sauteed onion and mushrooms, added the sauce, then peas and paneer. It's as good as anything I've had in an Indian restaurant. Will definitely repurchase.

First of all $28 is ridiculous. I bought a bottle at Kroger's for 5 bucks. Second of all I don't know what those other 2 reviews received, but this stuff is EXTREMELY hot! It's hot to a point of us just throwing everything away because we could not even eat it. Now don't get me wrong, I am from Texas and my Boyfriend is for Louisana and we love spicy food, but that was just ridiculous.

I have wanted to try Ghost Peppers for quite some time so I was giddy when I found this at my local grocery. The flavor is good but it's just NOT that spicy. Seriously, I've had Thai food spicier. I'm really disappointed. Keep in mind I order 'Thai Spicy' and generally have to argue to get it because I'm a white girl and they always think I won't be able to handle it, but I really expected this to blow me away, and it just didn't.

not hot at all. the taste is just ok... kook is a krook. do not purchase if you are expecting a tasty super hot curry.
