Necessary tool to begin turning square wood blanks on mini lathe.

Not only is the description misleading that it is not a self centering chuck, the tolerances are some of the worst I have encountered. Buyer Beware this is not a good or even slightly recommended offering

so I got this to make relief cuts in 2 stroke pistons. As I got it out of the box I first realized it does not self center. so Im already mad about that. I put the piston in it, centered manually as best I could, and tried it. The piston flew out of it immediately with nearly no side pressure. Absolutely worthless. I started a return immediately. Then after thinking about having no other real way to make these cuts I decided to try flipping the jaws around. I flipped them to the stepped side like pictured in the ad. Went out and tried it and it worked flawlessly. I used a calipers depth gauge to center it as much as possible.
