Thank You for Being You

I was surprised at where and to whom I was placing my thankfulness to while reading this book! It certainly is all encompassing! I added my own little personal notations here and there to make some of the messages more complete and personal to the person I was giving it to. We read it together, making it even more meaningful. Great lines, humor and statements with meaning.

This is a great concept and a great book. I love all the books by this author. The problem with this one is that there are some pages that are intensely personal and specific, and some that seem to border on a romantic relationship, some on friendship... it's just kind of a mix, so it ends up being not quite right for anyone.I purchased this for a good friend, and after reading it, there were so many pages that didn't fit that I decided not to give it to her. But then I thought, "She's a VERY good friend," so I tore out all the pages that didn't fit and gave her what was left. : ) She loved it.

I ordered this particular book to give as a gift but read it before I gave it to a friend and we both loved it. I knew it would be excellent as I had read the Blue Day Book several times and loved the author. I also ordered 3 Blue Day Books as gifts.

I have many Bradley Trevor Grieve books, and my undoubted favourite has to be  The Blue Day Book .Part of the problem I usually find is that, although pictures of wildlife and witty captions are easy reading, the books often lack a good central theme that is applicable beyond itself (e.g. Tomorrow ).With this book, I was a little worried it would be the same, with interesting pictures but with little utility. Despite appearances, this book is very useful and is one of those wee books you may want to buy as a gift.Why?Because it is essentially one long 'Thank You' letter.A good friend of mine is always sending 'Thank You' cards (with animal pictures on them) to express gratitude for a social occasion, present or fun time she's had.This book is basically the trump card of gratitude; it is a book to give to a lifelong friend after the latest of many acts of kindness has been received.Hence it is a very useful book, and would make a good gift to a friend. Furthermore, it is also a good read & gives you the same warm, fuzzy feeling as 'Blue Day Book'.I recall reading one of these books on a lazy afternoon to an ex-girlfriend & how romantic the gesture seemed to be.So it is that this book is above all Interesting, definitely Useful & Quick - only taking 5 minutes to read.Thoroughly recommended!
