Nintendo DS Lite Tekcase - Black

In short, I like it.Physically, it fits well enough and is 100% functional. The top snaps firmly to the top of the DS, while the bottom of the DS is somewhat loose in the bottom of the case. It never falls out, though, and if it snapped in it would be difficult to remove, but it's less than perfect and worth noting. The stylus eject works nicely, and the plastic is strong enough to protect against minor drops. It's not an Otter Box extreme duty case, but it's OK. It adds a little weight to the DS, which I got used to quickly but might bother people used to a naked DS. It doesn't bother me.On a full charge, I ran my DS at brightness level 2 for four days before the power went out, closing the case for, say, about 70% of the time when I was busy. Nice! There is only one small problem with this case's piggyback approach, which is that the DS does not warn you that the battery is low, because it thinks it is on wall power. So I'm being more careful to watch the status indicator on the side of the case.It's nearly perfect, and beats any DS case I've tried.[update 2013]I stopped using the case. All too frequently, I would lose power suddenly while playing on the reserve battery, and lose my game. And we're talking about infrequent save points here. It's a great idea, but I got tired of losing my progress. :(

My son really likes this item. He initially was not very impressed since it was made of hard plastic. He wanted it to be of similar material as the Nerf protector and didn't really want it. He was doubtful of the extra memory, but when he saw that Mom actually picked something which really did work as it stated as listed, he could not thank me enough. He had to use it while away, so I hope that it is still working well for him. But he really liked it and constantly reminded me how he could tell when the extra memory kicked in. It wasn't the easier thing to remove when he needed to remove it to verify the serial number of the DS Lite a couple times.

Let me start off by saying that my DS Lite has a messed up hinge so the top screen moves freely. I saw this case and was a little ify about buying it because of the price. I mean how are you getting a case and an extended battery for a few bucks plus shipping?? No way. But it turns out this case is amazing. I highly suggest this case to anyone with a hinge problem. it fixed my hinge problem, provides great protection, and extends my DS Lite playtime by about 3 hours on bright settings on 2. I have about 5 hours playtime on it normally but with this i got about 9 and a half. It is amazing. I highly recommend this case for everyone. It is simple to use and very sturdy. Mine came faster than i expected and i was very impressed. BUY THIS CASE.

I honestly did not realize that this case also had an extra battery pack in it when I purchased it. Definitely a pleasant surprise! I play a lot so an extra 3 hours not tied to a cord is plus for me. I would recommend this case to anyone with a DS Lite, it fits very well, it is just slightly more difficult than I thought getting the stylus out.

I picked this case/battery pack for my grandson and it has been a lifesaver. The added batterypower allowed us to get through his sisters graduation by keeping him occupied. The whole event had us parked on our butts for more than two hours. Heck I was about ready to steal his DS and play myself the pine pony was putting a hurting on the back end but he didn't mine it at all. Thanks, this product is well worth the cost.

As claimed, the case does support the top screen if your hinge is broken. It uses a standard micro usb charging system and gives you many additional hours of play. If you like your guitar hero game that hooks into the GB Advanced port don't expect play that game with this device connected, it will not fit. Overall its great though.

This case is fantastic! The charging instructions recommend that for the first charge you do it without the DS placed within but it charged upfine either way. I am very happy with the additional backup power which becomes available at the flip of a switch.
