I bought this set for a relative, it is a very high quality product for the money paid and a good starter to open shaving for anyone ! The actual razor is easy for a beginner to handle, and its good weighted and the comb leaves space for you to angle where you wont cut yourself easily. It has a badger brush, mixing bowl and stand (looks great in the bathroom) I would say you will need to buy some shaving cream, it comes with 5 blades so I would suggest buying blades also and then you are litreally all set to go and you can add all the pre and post shave balms and any other products you desire etc as time goes on... The badger brush arrived with a chip in it (manufacturing issue and not the sellers fault as the packaging was all good) I contacted the seller who apologised and sent out a replacement (with a few extras) next day delivery. Could not be happier with the service and product, will be buying from them again and recommend them to friends and family.

Lovely product however I didn’t read that the brush was made with badger hair. We couldn’t have in the house knowing how that’s made. Stand amazing and fits a body shop shave brush.

It also includes a pack of 10 razor blades which were an unexpected bonus.The bowl is shaped to work up a lather using shaving cream, gel or soap and the brush wet with hot water. Used correctly to develop a deep foam, 1-2 minutes is sufficient, it needs surprisingly little shaving cream and can actually save product wastage. A few extra drops of water may boost the volume of foam.The kit includes a storage stand for the razor, brush and bowl. The brush, after use and a thorough rinse, can be hung to air dry having shaken-off excess water; by being free-hanging, it will never deform. The razor will accept any brand of double-sided blades from Gillette, Wilkinson Sword etc. The razor is copied from a vintage design and all metal, heavier than any disposable or those that use a pre-mounted blade system. It will need more care and a lighter touch when shaving to avoid frequent cuts.The brush uses real badger hair which is regarded as the best material for the task although cheaper brushes may have an outer rim of badger but nylon bristles at the centre. The handle is wood and very comfortable to use.Overall, it appears to be of good quality and value. As it is supplied neatly boxed, it could make an excellent gift for an experienced wet shaver. As it is Chinese-made, there are reservations about the steel based on prior experience across several products that had rusted rather quickly despite supposedly being 'stainless'. If stored damp, rust remains a possibility denies it a top rating.

I've used safety razors for a few years now, as they work out cheaper and are a bit better for the environment than using disposable razors. So I was keen to see what this Miusco set was like to use.On arrival, the set comes in a nice presentation box. Inside you have the stand, shaving soap bowl, razor, pack of blades and brush.First the positives, the razor handle is a nice length and is around 1cm longer than my other 3 different safety razors that I own, which is great. The razor has the universal safety blade fitting, so you can use the blades that come with the set, or any of the leading brands of safety razors. I like that the bowl isn't fixed in the stand, as this means you can bring the shaving soap (which isn't included) nearer to your face. The bowl is a nice size and should accommodate most leading brands of shaving soaps (I use Edwin Jagger which can be seen in the photos and is available from Amazon). The stand is a nice weight, feels solid and shouldn't topple very easily.Now for the few issues, in this day and age, it seems strange to still use badger hair, as this is not a viable option for most people concerned about animal welfare. I have had plenty of shaving brushes made of synthetic fibres that work as well as any badger hair brushes. I actually found the bristles a little coarse in this Miusco set. Another issue I had is that whilst the textured grip on the razor handle should have been a welcome addition, the quality in the finish was a little poor, I actually got a slight cut whilst holding it and using it, and had to stop using the razor. I have kept the stand as it is compatible with other razors I own.. Whilst I knew what I was doing, there were no instructions for inserting the safety razors, and this might not be obvious to someone who has started to use this type of razor for the first time.In summary, there are some nice features in this set, particularly the design, but unfortunately, the manufacturing quality is a little poor, and therefore what would have been a 4 or 5 star review, I am having to reduce to a 3-star review.
