Home automation device
This would be a one of the home automation plug. It has 2 variant 10A & 16A. I own 16A.This can be used geyser, ac, washing, dishwasher, oven, fridge, multiple hub where you connect PC, TV, music system...anything everything. All you can control on your mobile. How it works. If you single band modem the wifi output will be 2.4Ghz. By default It will connect to common wifi.If your home is duplex in that case, This wifi signal won't reach all corner...so use wifi extender from tp link and use it on multiple floor from single wifi.Even if you go outside you can Control from your mobile Data.If your modem is dual band, it will produce 2 signal, 2.4Gz and 5Hhz. So these plugs will detect only 2.4Ghz. Only.Another interesting part is checking how much electricity is consuming...you can comtrol your appliance on your mobile anytime...it's best...there by you can see how much electricity is consumed per day from.particular appliance....it's worth fir moneySo fat all are built home without home automation. But you can convert your home plugging these plugs make your home automation. On mobile app, you can give room names like master bedroom living hall, etc. From that you can add appliances and control specific room wise.Another best part is, you can schedule the geyser...and ac...those will be automatically on and perform there activity..by the time you wake up morning hot water will be ready. It's best....

Standard smart plug with some issues
This is as good/bad as most smart plugs out there- infact it is the same as the most smart plugs as they are all manufactured by Tuya (a Chinese company) which are then branded by different companies. I went for Wipro as they are a reputed brand and though the product is the same as other brands, I'm hoping they will be better to deal with for warranty support if needed. So here are my thoughts:1. Being a generic product, you can use the branded Wipro app or the Smartlife app to control. If you have different branded smart plugs then better to use smartlife to integrate them all in one app.2. Wifi could be a bit finicky - it connected easily with my jiofi and jiofiber router but refused to connect to my tplink router for setting up. Not sure why. I ended up setting up the product with my jiofi and then changed the tplink SSID to match jiofi SSID and then it works.3. It returns to previous state after a power failure- this is both good and bad depending on your needs. There is no control in the apps (wipro and smartlife) to select if you want to default it to previous state or default to off. I wanted to use it for my water pump and so I want it to default it to off but it won't. Imagine if it was on and there is power cut for 4 hours - the pump will be back on after power resumes so you'll have to keep an eye if it's online or offline all the time- not good if you wanted to control this remotely. If it's controlling your geyser or AC then no big deal.4. Reliability- this is the main issue if you want to use it remotely. I tested the schedule and countdown timer features. If there is wifi failure then the schedules or timers that are already set will keep working. Different story in case of power failure- I tested the countdown timer by switching it on, turning on the timer for it to switch off and then cut the power after some time. When the power cut was for a smaller duration than the timer, it switched off per the timer, but when the power cut was longer than the timer duration then it would not switch off. There goes my plans to control my pump remotely.Bottom Line: These things are still evolving and most of the above issues are software related. There needs to be an option to select the power state after power failure and wifi should be more robust. You don't want this to get offline after switching on a device. For the time being, I think it is good for tinkering but certainly not reliable enough for critical applications. I think the Amazon smart plug has better controls but they only make the 10A version.

Does the job well but only works on 2.4GHz network
Great product, very useful in monitoring power usage for heavy appliances. Only downside is that it works only on 2.4GHz network. Rest all is good.

A Convenient but Short-Lived Experience
The Wipro 10A Smart Plug initially seemed like a great addition to my smart home setup. Its ease of use and seamless integration with voice assistants made it an appealing choice. However, my enthusiasm was short-lived as both of the plugs I purchased stopped working after just a year of use, leaving me disappointed. While the smart plug functioned well during its initial months, the fact that there is no warranty support after a year is disheartening. It's essential to consider this limitation before investing in multiple units or relying heavily on these plugs for long-term use.In terms of functionality, the Wipro 10A Smart Plug provided convenient remote control of connected devices through the dedicated smartphone app. Its compatibility with voice assistants allowed for voice commands and added convenience. However, I did encounter occasional connectivity issues, where the plug would disconnect from the network and require manual intervention to reconnect. The build quality of the smart plug is satisfactory, with a compact design that doesn't obstruct neighbouring sockets. However, it's worth noting that the plugs can feel slightly flimsy, and the overall durability may be a concern, especially considering the limited warranty period.Despite these setbacks, I appreciate the affordability of the Wipro 10A Smart Plug and the convenience it offers when it functions correctly. However, the lack of long-term reliability and the absence of warranty support after a year's use are significant drawbacks that potential buyers should be aware of.In conclusion, while the Wipro 10A Smart Plug initially provides a convenient and seamless smart home experience, the short lifespan and the absence of warranty support after a year make it a questionable choice for long-term use. If you're willing to take the risk and can accept the limitations, it may still serve as a budget-friendly option for basic smart home automation needs. However, for those seeking more reliability and peace of mind, exploring other options with longer warranty coverage is advisable.
