I thought I was buying the new version, but received this book instead. Cover is completely different, so is the content. A lot info in the book is outdated :(

The Private Pilot Manual is fantastic. The only problem I had with the book, in the beginning, was the price. I was not quite ready to lay down that sort of money for a book that appears to have many much cheaper alternatives. I purchased this book used for thirty dollars, it has some wear but all in all is in great condition. It actually appears to have been signed by Chuck Yeager, though I have been unable to verify the signature. The use gives the book a much warmer feel.Don't let all the pictures fool you, this is no children's book. Each colorful and often beautiful image is there to help clarify the topic that is being explained. To me it is very helpful to see what they are talking about. I have seen quite a few other books that just don't do this, they assume you understand.The Private Pilot Manual is packed with useful and important information, like several of the FAA publications put together but more graphic intensive and a bit easier to read. Everything I would expect from Jeppesen. Each section ends with a summary and a list of key terms, as well as questions to help you burn the knowledge better into your mind.A fantastic book, definitely one that every pilot or aspiring pilot should own. I now believe it is worth the full price, it is indeed a high quality text book.

This is an A to Z flight training product. Every line is packed with info. Every line is well written and comprehensible. I wish this product had been available when I first started flying in 1964. I would have been the smartest and best informed VFR pilot on the block. I've read it now, and I have to tell you I'm a lot pilot smarter for it. It answers questions I have tucked away for years. It is deep with thoughts and answers that only a writer with incredible insight would bring to a training manual. These people know how to write a manual. I go back to it constantly, to refresh; and I still find more enlightenment that I missed during the original reading. I just have a big 'Wow!' to give this manual.

This book is outdated.

I bought this book as a reference for teaching private pilots. I am a flight instructor and I feel this is the best single book for a student pilot to purchase. Between the Jeppesen Private Pilot Manual and the FAR/AIM, a student has just about everything they would need to complete his or her Private Pilot Training.The illustrations in the book are probably the finest of the flight training manuals that I've seen. The book is expensive, but in my opinion, it's worth the cost.

I had this manual when I was learning to fly and lost is some years ago. It was great when I was learning to fly and great now for reference . If your a visual learner as I am this might be for you .

Great condition, hardcover (which I love in books!) and well printed. Love it! I am still going through it, but for anyone desiring to start to progress towards their PPL, this book is pretty good

A very good manual that makes all the theoretical part easy to understand. The way is written and the illustrations are easy to assimilate.I recommend it to anyone that wants to become a pilot, is already in school or has ears of practice, although if you are just passionate about aviation is also a good choice.
