Fundamentals of Fixed Prosthodontics Subsequent Edition

This book, although an older edition, is extremely useful in the field of dentistry! I really enjoyed it for my fixed pros class in dental school and I will keep it on my shelf in order to reference to in throughout my career. This text book covers many aspects of fixed prosthodontics in detail. It is well written and easy to follow. Some aspects may not be up-to-date so do not expect latest technologies to be covered- this is a fudamentals books! It does cover the fundamentals well and I believe every dental student should own this book.

This is a great book for any Dentist to review for crown and bridge work. This book does not go into great detail of every facet of fixed prost but is a good overview of each step in fixed work. I would recommend reviewing it if you are thinking of doing a big case in the future. I purchased this one used for a great price.

I have the second edition and I love it so much although there is no attractive photos inside but it is very practical for me in clinical study. This time I buy the third edition. It is also kept me irresistible of reading it.

basic book but still nice

Great textbook! It was required in dental school and still refer to it once in a while. Great text for any older dentist to have a reference.

A definite "MUST READ" for any dentist. This book covers practically everything you need to know, including in-depoth coverage of lab methods and occlusion. My only criticism would be the illustrations. Whilst newer editions have improved on this, this edition still has the line drawings which can be a little difficult to interpret 3-DimensionallyMy other criticism is Shillingburg is perhaps just "too good" for us mere mortals to replicate his preps.

Very difficult read. Many tutors will swear by it but I'm sorry to say I failed to learn much from it. I found the text very outdated and where as I was looking for the prep dimensions they weren't laid out in an easy to read format. Rather than buying this book have a glance at it in the library and then put it back again!
