I bought two sets of these gates to block our two sets of deck stairs, ostensibly to keep our dog in, and a barrier for toddler / young grandchildren. As you see from the photos I have attached, it was mounted to our deck posts at the top of the stairs, not a wall (as recommended by the manufacturer). Also, at the top of the stairs - because we do not want our dog / grandchildren to go down and off the deck. The manufacturer recommends to put the gate at the bottom of stairs but that is not always practical and should be deleted by the manufacturer from instructions. Once I got the hang of it, they were relatively easy to install. On one opening I used the short extension piece, and on the other opening I used two extensions. I set the top on both sides first. When they were tight enough to hold the gate up - but could still be slid around, I used a level to make sure they were straight. Then I tighten the top, and set / tightened the bottom. I also bought the recommended rubber cups (separate vendor) and I recommend them as well. If you make the gates too tight against the wall (or in my case - the posts) the gate door will not swing properly. Once I realized that I loosened the gates with a short turn or two which created the gap needed for the gate to swing both ways. The product is nicely designed and the gate mechanism is perfect / childproof. We are pleased with the product. If a big dog or child (or a clumsy adult) throw themselves against the gate, it will likely dislodge, but that is not what it was designed for.

We needed a gate that would extend at least 47inches. We chose this gate to test given the various it’s capable adjustments. We needed a gate that is tension based, not required to screw into the wall. We use this gate to barrier off our formal living room from our Akbash. This gate is exactly what we wanted. FYI - this gates comesWith everything to screw into the wall and stair mounts. Follow the directions for setup - you’ll be fine. Yes, there is a gap until the very end. I mistakenly cut the tie that kept the gap closed. Therefore I needed someone to adjust the tension screws while I physically closed the gap with my hands. Not end of world. Probably avoidable had I read the directions rather than just cut all the ties when I pulled the gate out of the box.The gate easily opens without issue and closes automatically. Note: you must pull the lever back AND lift up at the same time for the gate to open. EXCELLENT! This means the gate isn’t going to just open with a little push. The gate will remain open if you extend the gate all the way open. Nice option that we would when we put the dog outside to clean the house.We only use the tension screws, no bolting into the wall. Very sturdy! Though our Akbash/Great Pyr could barrel through anything he wanted, he just stands there even when someone is knocking.Would purchase again.

Very sturdy and looks nice in the house. The wide doorway is a fantastic feature, as well as the door swinging both ways… this is a huge benefit not common at this price point. Easy to install, with a choice of either pressure-mount or fixed mount. Highly recommend this brand, we are really pleased with it.

So I really like the aesthetic of it, it’s easy to install, but it definitely does budge against the wall. It works for us because we have it at the bottom of the stairs but I would NOT be comfortable with it being the top of the stairs because the pressurized sides DO budge and I don’t want to risk someone’s child falling, other than that, it works fairly effectively. Just prepare for the paint to be chipped a bit but I like how it looks & fits overall.

High quality and easy to install.

I really like this gate, just wish it would last. After a few weeks of use the plastic hinges start to break. Unfortunately this is the second one to do this to me. It fits perfectly in the place I need it to, but just sucks it doesn't last longer.

This gate is nice and sturdy. Easy enough for a 5 year old to open but not too easy so that the 3 year can do it yet. It has held in place perfectly so far with 3 dogs jumping up on it. It's a tad tricky to set up but not too bad. I just had to tighten the tie around the gate a little more and then was able to do it much easier. Make sure not to cut until you're done.

This was purchased to keep pet out of kids playroom. Sturdy. Love the swing gate feature. Make sure you measure your opening before buying. Follow instructions. Would buy again
