I was drawn into this book in the beginning. I thought the hero, Dr. John McCutcheon was interesting. I also liked the heroine, Lily, although I thought her English was awfully good for someone who had come from Germany just 18 months ago. The last half of the book, especially the last quarter just got too involved with too many bad guys, too many confrontations, too many escapes, too many thwarted romances, etc. ****************************SPOILER ALERT*********************When the 'man in black' showed up, my first thought was 'Paladin.' Then when it turned out that he was a bounty hunter and his name was BOONE, I totally lost it. Apparently the author has been watching old re-runs of "Have Gun Will Travel" starring Richard Boone! (I have tapes of that show. Love it!) From that point on, every time someone mentioned the name Boone, I had to laugh. It did spoil things for me. And, when the secondary hero left his true love locked in a room with a rattlesnake and went for backup, well...I wouldn't have had him on a bet after that. Her brother seemed to think it was alright, though. I would much rather have risked a gunshot than a snake bite. Just me, I guess. There was also a rattlesnake in the privy at the school. It escaped the privy by a hole in the floor and so the hole was covered up and it was considered 'safe' to use. Hmm. What about the LARGER hole in the privy? How darned safe was it? (I think only one rattlesnake should be allowed per novel. Let's make that a new rule.)***********************END SPOILER ALERT************************ For the most part I did enjoy the book and I will probably try another one by this author. No language or sexual situations to offend any reader

Hard to put down story
Dr. John McCutcheon was returning via stagecoach to Rio Wells to set up practice when he met Lily Anthony a seamstress heading to the same town to set up shop. The story revolves around a stolen valuable gem that a banker and his hired outlaws would stop at nothing to obtain. Lily's Aunt Harriet had taken the gem from a wealthy employer and hid it among her possessions with the intention of returning it. A lot of criminality and intrigue cause the reader to turn page after page until the end. Loved this book!

Enjoyable Read!
I thoroughly enjoyed Texas Twilight! Even though it is a sequel to Montana Dawn (excellent!), it could easily be a stand alone novel. In this story, little brother John begins his medical practice in the small Texas town where his uncle and family live. Fyffe does an excellent job of character development. This book is full of romance and excitement--you won't be disappointed. I certainly hope the McCutcheon saga will continue.

Waiting for the next one
I have now read all three of Caroline's books and I can say that I can't wait for the fourth. Love the character development coming off her previous book. As a 28 year old guy I can say anyone can love these books. I would highly reccommend them they are inexpensive, wholesome, and refreshingly quick reads. Can't wait for number four

ADORED this book!
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but I ADORED this book. I loved the secondary characters of townspeople, and loved the inter-woven relationships. I also loved the easy going relationship of the main characters.... such friendship and respect from the beginning. No lies between then just waiting to be uncovered, which I found refreshing.Great read!
