Works great
Proper installation is critical. Instructions and worthless but common sense should be enough. The short end goes on the tank. The flange for tightening the 2” adapter is thin and smooth by design so a pipe wrench is required. A couple drops of loctite will help, too. When putting the cap back on, I found it helps to get it hand tight, and make sure there’s a little play before locking it. When unlocking the cap, you might have to wiggle the cap a little so the lock pin sets properly. One of the complaints I saw was about the cap spraying fuel - especially when the fuel is sloshing in the tank. My guess is that the tank was too full and/or didn’t have baffles. Transfer tanks should not be filled more than 90% of capacity. Works great!

Locking fuel cap
It installed very easily, and I'm satisfied with the product. Just a little extra protection for my expensive heating oil.

O-rings are junk!
Hey it worked great for a whole day but the red diesel fuel was too much for the low quality o-rings.... Seemed like a sturdy well built fuel cap and lock but the o-rings swelled to almost twice the original diameter after being in fuel. Even the one in the lock cover expanded. Was hoping for a dry fuel tank but was really disappointed. Not recommended tobuy untill o-ring issues are fixed

I have two
I haven't lost any diesel even when it was over $5 a gallon, so they must work. Once you lock them they spin freely and makes all but impossible to get off.

Very secure, but water can be an issue
I had high hopes for this cap. It was priced as a quality product and the locking mechanism is excellent! It is the most secure fuel cap i have seen. It is well made, has weight to it and the finish has held up well. The problem is the vents. Initially, the vents would not let air through. I have this cap on a 50 gallon slip tank plumbed directly into my trucks filler neck. It has a 1 gallon/minute pump with a spin on auxiliary filter/water separater (thank god I added it). The first few times I transfered fuel from the tank to my truck I notice the tank popping, I opened the cap and it was under vacuum. The vent wasn't letting air in. This problem seemed to fix itself and after about five uses air flower freely. Not big deal. The second and seriously dissapointing problem is water will get past the vents and into my fuel. After a few months of use I drained the in line filter/h20 separater and there was about 1/2 a cup of water in it. After some trouble shooting I discovered it was the cap. Water gets past the vent when hit with water from a garden hose during washing. This was evident from the water droplets on the inside of the cap. Rain does NOT seem to get in it and I try to face the vents to the rear so that wind doesn't force it in. I guess with the limited options on the market this is probably the best. As long as you take precautions during washing, this cap is a good option. But for the price, one would think the design and function of the vent would be better. I would still recommend this product. It is very secure and good looking.
