Tide Rider Thunderer Plastic Referee Coach Police Loud Whistle 559 (2-Pack)

I ref rugby and this whistle is fantastic. I've used other cheap, metal whistles and it is night and day. The old cheap whistle is not very loud and has a different pitch pattern. The "Thunderer" is so much louder and the pitch pattern is distinct. Some of the new refs use the old whistles and don't blast it very well to make calls. I tell the new refs to pick up a Thunderer. It will help immensely.

Guaranteed, your dog will hear this whistle. It is extremely loud, to the point I bought a quieter one for backyard training sessions. This thing is great for field work, especially if your dog gets far from you, but I find it too loud for my primary training whistle. I keep one on my lanyard in case the dog runs to the next county, but for 95 percent of the training, I use the softer Acme 211.5 whistle. It is much easier on my nerves.

I’ve used these acme thunderer whistles for years to signal bird dogs while working/training them in the field. Very loud and very durable. They never break. Only reason I’ve ever had to replace one is because I occasionally lose one. I’ve tried other whistles in a pinch but none have a tone as commanding & audible as these. As a trainer, I find the acme thunderer whistle to be the absolute best product for my use.

Sturdy plastic whistles work like they are supposed to work. I'm using them for dog training and they have good tone and enough distance to work well for that job.
