Great Deal - great tone - no complaints - and its pretty too.
I had wanted to upgreade the Pick-ups in my Squier Contemporary Telecaster with a more vintage style tone like maybe a Wide Range HB that Fender had on the '72 Thinline Telecaster, But these reissue Wide-Range Buckers are not the same as the Vintage (apparently do not make the magnets they used in the originals) and they are very expensive . looking at other options was a Filter'tron style pick-up tone and I loved the idea of tweaking this guitar in that classic Gretsch'ish direction. After doing a bunch of research looking for the right sound, style, and tone I found almost ALL the Filter'tron style pick-ups (like TV Jones or Gretsch) to be VERY expensive with 2 exceptions the GFS (guitar fetish) Tron's and a little pick-up company called The Fret Wire (TFW) that were selling here on Amazon. GFS vintage toned Tron's were more exspensive and they only had a GOLD style in stock. Rather than waiting I decided to give these FRET WIRE pickups on Amazon a shot because of the great value. I figured it was Worth the risk... AND THEY SOUND GREAT. I think they are a Hot Vintage Voice/Tone. They sound right at home in this Red Telecaster. The pickups were easy to wire up. I ended up swapping in a .022 Russian Paper and Oil cap on the Tone pot (also off Amazon) that worked very well. This Telecaster now purrs and growls. THANKS FRET WIRE GUYS!

Be careful. They bite!
Just to give you an idea of what I play, I have a hollowbody archtop. It's a cheap Chinese knockoff of a Casino or 335. Also have a cheap tele knockoff with P90s, A Dean Shire, and used to have a couple of Strat knockoffs. I'll be honest. I don't like the way Fender inspired guitars play. But I do like the way they sound. The hollow body guitar is a nice instrument. I've never had one so playable.A while back I bought a Les Paul Special 2 and I like the way it plays. The neck is quite comfortable and the body is small and light. Even the pickups in it are decent. This is something that I could take out and not worry about it being knocked around some. Even though the stock pickups are good on their own, I wondered if I could get some of that glassy Strat chime on this cheap LP. I came across these beauties while browsing Amazon and I thought for the price I'd give it a try. They are everything I'd hoped for and they look great too. True, they are not as loud as humbuckers. But they are about on par with typical single coil output. The neck pickup is similar in sound to a humbucker. The bridge pickup is much closer to what a single coil sounds like. So there's a lot of versatility there. The lower output is not a bad thing. A lower output pickup can give you better control of your clean tone and if you dial in your amp just right you can get right on the line between clean and dirty and do some pretty cool stuff. Before I wrap this up, a word on microphonics. Years ago all pickups were that way. Then potted pickups came along and it fixed feedback problems but it just didn't sound as good. There are still some players out there who won't use a potted pickup. Yes, these P90s are microphonic, and they sound great. If you're going to play metal you want potted pickups. If you're going to play metal you don't want P90s. So you see how this is a non issue. If you want classic clean and dirty the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Santana, Clapton and Hendrix, These are an excellent pickup to choose. If you set up your amp correctly and don't stand right in front of it you could even manage to get some metal tones out of it. Just know there's a limit to how much.

Great upgrades for a cheap guitar
I have an Ibanez GR (begineer model) guitar that I found used for $80 and decided to turn into a fretless. It was a fun project with great results, but the stock pickups sounded muddy and their low output meant that my sustain was now virtually non existant as the strings were now fretted against my finger instead of a metal fret. Considering that this was such an inexpensive guitar, I couldn't bring myself to spend twice what I paid for it on a set of Seymour Duncans. Instead I decided to take a gamble with these, and it definitely paid off.Compared to the stock pickups, these offer much more clarity and output. The mid to high frequencies are noticeably punchier while still maintaining a tight bass response. For my purposes, this was exactly what I was after. These may be a bit too bright for some, but since I was trying to brighten up the sound I was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't put these up against SD Pearly Gates or the like, but if you have a cheap guitar that you want a clearer sound out of, these might be just the trick. At this price point it'd almost be silly not to try them.

Sound Good, Look Good, Value Good
I bought these for a re-build project I was doing to replace the humbuckers that had come in the guitar originally. I mainly bought these just b/c they were something different and I didn't own a guitar with P90s. These things look great, they sound really good and certainly have a different type of sound than the humbuckers. They are also much quieter than I was expecting (I had heard from people that P90s have a good bit of hum and hiss, which I haven't noticed on these).Lost star is b/c the wires from the pickups were not quite long enough, so I ended up having to do a little splicing to get the wires to the pots. I really could have used an extra couple of inches on the wires from the pickups. Other than that, no complaints.

Great sounding, easy to install!
These pickups are nice...kind of dark sounding humbuckers in my opinion. I put these in a pine offset style guitar They are definitely not filtertron/TV Jones sounding pickups though. They just have the look which is what I was going after more than a specific sound. They appear to be just a normal humbucker with the decorative chrome cover attached. The center tabs of the cover on mine were flared up slightly so I had to carefully place a blob of epoxy under each tab to hold them down. Otherwise I could see myself getting a string caught under it in extreme rocking conditions. Overall though...very cool.

Wow! These are awesome!
These pickups are amazing for the price. Maybe I just got lucky and got an exceptionally good set, but I put these in a cheap telecaster that had humbucker pickups in it, and now this guitar is my go to axe. It's so chimy and punchy compared to the custom hand wound 250$ pups in my custom build Tele that I shake my head in disbelief every time I plug in!If your looking for a great sounding set of pickups at a super affordable price, these will not disappoint!

Great sounding - good quality
Really like the tone and they are surprisingly quiet in terms of noise. Construction and finish wise they are top notch. They breathed new life into my old gibson melody maker. No issues whatsoever - which I was half expecting there to be. Paid $70 for the set. Make sure you find a seller that sticks to that as the price.

Nice product
Well made, good finish but wrong size for my guitar. Description should tell over all dimensions.

Unbeatable price and great transaction
The price is crazy good. The delivery was faster than expected. I will update once I have had the P90s in for a little while.
