Got the #9-9ft. Saltwater outcast.
What I liked is everything you can imagine.Quality, well made, lite, good looking like me. If you can't afford one save up and when you are ready get one and I promise you won't be sorry. I have 2 other fly rods and neither one comes close to this rod.

Fast action but heavy
Only ever had Orvis. Needed a quick 9wt 9ft fly rod and honestly I was surprised. Large streamer, 40lb tippet with 25 leader. Not one issue, great role over and a solid back bone. It’s not made in the US but it’s a very high quality rod made overseas. Handled a 13b striper with ease

Ready to go- just waiting for salmon
The action is completely acceptable and my flies are doing a great job of final placement, I can admit my intent was not to purchase a salt water rod- but I needed a rod in a few days and that is what was available and it functions very well. it seems to be more accurate than the rod it replaced and im excited for next falls run in hopes of landing more salmon- on a side note this rod feels good enough that it may work for carp in late spring.

Fantastic Rod
I bought this rod in an Outcast model/9wt for a trip to Belize. I wanted the fast action rod for windy days and didn’t want to break the bank to buy one. Just got back and man am I impressed. I’ll likely buy an 8wt now as well. I fish with a long time Belizean guide and he casted it a few times and was impressed and those guys are hard to impress! If you are considering a Moonshine Rod I would certainly recommend you pick one up.

Got my fingers crossed
My 9 wt survived Alaska Pike and performed well. Just bought an 8 wt for bones/permit, an 11 wt for GTs and a 10 wt as a back up. Off to Xmas island (Kiribati) to chase big ones Hoping I picked the right rod company!!!!🤞
