Backup software MUST provide straightforward, reasonably fast and DEPENDABLE system or file restoration. Acronis does not - at least not for my up-to-date Mac.It installs like a dream. Backups are easy to set up. Operation is smooth for (1) a complete clone to an external SSD and for (2) a selective file BU to an external drive.Restoring a specific group of folders or even a single file is pure misery. The contents of the BU are not visible! Files or folders must be searched for (did you remember their names!!). The only indication that a search is taking place is a tiny revolving symbol. A simple folder search through a 700GB BU can take over an hour. Worse, once the seach finds appear, subfolders cannot be accessed. Frankly, it's just unusable for files and folders BU.Thankfully I have never had to restore the Mac from an Acronis clone. Clicking the first stages gives a message that making a start up disk/partition is not possible on the latest mac operating systems without further effort. That problem is not restricted to Acronis products but the way to create a recovery disk via Acronis is very obscure.In summary, great for creating backups - but pray that you will never need them.
