The band’s third album ‘Look At Yourself’ was originally released in October of 1971 and represented the first for manager Gerry Bron’s new label ‘Bronze Records’. The title track is a charging statement of intent as the band don’t let up, with no time to reflect on their success. Such was their hectic schedule at this time they managed to cram touring, session time and 3 albums in the space of 12 months. These re-packaged and re-mastered albums have been endorsed by the band all with a bonus disc of un-released material. ‘Look at Yourself’ was released with a unique foil front cover and this has been faithfully re-created in a lavish digipack format using foil board material which presents the entire package in a new and shimmering light.

Paul Newton & Iain Clark helped create one great album!
Contrary to a lot of other reviews, I find this album and Very 'Eavy Very 'Umble to be Heep's finest. Though these incarnation(s) did not include the "famous" lineup with Kerslake and Thain, the music still rocks heavy. This new remastered 2 CD set is special because of the second CD, full of alternative mixes, some of which were previously available on The Landsdowne Tapes. This is a very good keepsake for the early Heep fan. Shadows Of Grief and July Morning are my favorites, but the whole CD is memorable!

This album ROCKS!
One of my favorite LPs during the 70's. This is still a great album, and I enjoy the extras that came on this disc.Look At Yourself, July Morning, Tears in My Eyes, and Love Machine were some of Uriah Heep's best work. Now if I could just get my hands on some 70's Purple Haze...

Heavy Metal at its best...
their 3rd usa release and the best of all their releases, by far. In my opinion. July Morning is so good. Ken Hensley is so good. It's a shame the late David Byron had his off-stage drinking struggles and probably on stage too. The two apparently didn't gel. But boy, what a team when they did. No better vocals (David) and no better song writer / musician (Ken). Such a powerful group.

Look at Yourself... and why not this album!
This album is referred to as their best (next to "Demons and Wizards") and I do certainly think this had a more artistic style than the sequel, which seemed like a bit more of a grab for money while still following their style. The title track got me interested in buying this album before getting anything past the one album I already had, and this album certainly holds well. While I wouldn't call it their heaviest, their softest, their most artistic, or their best, I still think it is a must have for Uriah Heep listeners and people who like this style of music. "July Morning" is praised by many to be their equivalent to "Stairway to Heaven," or "Free Bird" in terms of artistic talent or epicness, and while I say it isn't as good as people praise, (and I feel the same way about the songs they compare it to) I should say it do like it. It isn't bad or anything, I just don't think it was their greatest moment. This album as a whole serves well and I love to listen to it. The melodic sound this band plays while staying heavy has a nice feel to it instead of pounding heaviness or just pure musical art.

One of the Best !!!
Another awesome album by Uriah Heep. This is as good as it gets from the seventies. They just don`t get the credit that they deserve.

So it was so good to hear again
I had this album by vinyl more than 30 years ago. So it was so good to hear again, it taked me to the past. It is a great feeling to enjoy the music as much as when I was young. Maybe better as I have much more information about the groups, albums, styles. Living in Hungary these kind of music was forbidden almost unavailable.I love Uriah Heep's early albums, my best is the first one. It is pure hard rock with gitars and drums, what I prefer them to organ. The organ dominated and more popular style doesn't fits so to my vertu, though there are a lot of nice songs, for example Pilgrim, what is so lovely and couldn't to listen enough time.

Great
Look at yourself I always consider as the album where the band found their direction. Tears in my eyes features Ken playing slide guitar and is an example of the direction they were heading in! And the epic July Morning is also one of their finest songs also. The only thing this album was missing was Lee and Gary.

This is a great album, David Byron was a great vocalist
This is a great album,David Byron was a great vocalist, they have some great songs and lasted longer than Deep Purple, they didn't listen to what critics said about them and listened to the fans instead which is the best thing to do.

My collection is complete!!
This CD completes my collection of Uriah Heep recordings made between 1971 and 1976. To me they were the most under rated band around at that time. The immensely talented Ken Hensley was as prolific at writing good songs as Lennon / McCartney and David Byron was not just one of the best front-men but had a voice perfectly suited to Ken's songs. This collection of music contains 'July Morning' which must surely rank as one of their best songs, although there are many contenders for this title.

Uriah Heep - "Look At Yourself" (2 CD)
This is the third CD of the band and was released in 1971 (same year of the second album). In this album one notices a rock a little heavier with consistency and good quality. The band changes, not repeating the same recipe and maintaining the level of work. It's hard to choose a featured track, but perhaps "What Should Be Done" is the most beautiful and closely watched by "I Wanna Be Free", "July Morning" and "Tears In My Eyes." However, all tracks are good. In addition, Disk 2 is an interesting alternative featuring different versions not previously recorded. Great! Note 9.0.

2 cd version, only. Ruined by dreadful live track.
Ruined by dreadful live track. Why oh why did they have to include that dreadful live version of July Morning? It sounds like it was recorded by some kid using an old fashioned portable cassette recorder. The otherwise brilliant double disc set is totally ruined by its inclusion. They could have used an alternative, previously unreleased, live version of the song from the "Live '73" tour instead.
