Does not work, failed spectacularly
Does not work, failed spectacularly1) On full charge, placed directly on top of a smallish common household spider, turn on the vacuum, and it did absolutely NOTHING. The spider just stood there on the wall. The suction power is simply too weak to do anything.2) After wiggling the tubes around the spider, it finally decided to move itself into the tube. I then plugged the tube, planning to release it back into the yard. Lo behold - the spider moved all the way to the back of the tube, then through the vacuum holes and into the handle itself - another epic fail of the design. Not knowing what to do at this point, i turned on the unit again, unfortunately this pulverized the little guy as i guess it was in the fan at that point. I can see legs and arms inside the fan.In conclusion, this product simply does not work in any shape or form. It failed in every function it suppose to perform. I am returning it, avoid at all cost.

Dissappointed
I was so excited when my bug vac arrived. Actually had a spider ready to be caught. Caught the spider just fine but it kept running to the top of the wand to get out so I kept sucking him back in and he ended up getting sucked into the motor. It is a hassle to take out the end of the wand to put the cap on the bug don't escape. I think the end could be improved by attaching a cap to the end of the wand so it can be capped quickly. I also had a centipede get in the motor as well. In total there was three spiders and one centipede that got sucked into the motor. Then I had a spider crawl into the holes to the motor on its own. I successfully caught and released into the toilet one spider and one stink bug. This cannot be good on the motor and I fear it won't last very long. This could be improved by having smaller holes or perhaps a screen. I have to use a tissue folded up to hold over the end of the wand so the bug won't get out.

which allowed plenty of vacuum while preventing the tiny spiders from getting drawn into the fan blades (and easy to remove the hosiery to clean or replace)
Since purchasing this system over 2 weeks ago, we have captured and relocated 55 spiders, and we are still on the original battery charge. All spiders survived the vacuum capture without damage. To prevent damaging very small spiders, we took a piece of hosiery and stretched it over the intake area and used the clear capture tube to hold it in place, which allowed plenty of vacuum while preventing the tiny spiders from getting drawn into the fan blades (and easy to remove the hosiery to clean or replace).

Just Okay
So I haven't really tested the product yet to see if it picks up bugs efficiently, but I have one early critique. The big catcher has a cap that closes the tube to presumably capture whatever bug you've caught and keep it inside until you can release it. But there's one small glitch. You have to remove the nozzle on the end before you can put the cap on. What a silly design. This clearly should have been designed so the cap fits right onto the entire apparatus. The way it is currently designed when you store the device you can't possibly store it with all three pieces together. I'm guessing most people lose either the cap or the nozzle in very short order. Design people! It's important to think through it.

It seems to work best on big spiders - maybe their center of gravity ...
Note - it is incredibly loud! It just way louder than I expect for its size. My dog flips out every time I use it... but I use it a lot because we have a lot of spiders! It seems to work best on big spiders - maybe their center of gravity is higher? Smaller ones i sometimes have to scrape it off the wall or floor. Also, smaller spider seem to get sucked PAST the little grate at the back, so then I just set the whole unit outside so it can crawl out, if it survived the suck. Have probably sucked ten or so spiders so far, and am just now needing to charge it back up. The little pieces it comes with are useless. In fact, one of them fell into my toilet never to be seen again. So i don't recommend using the little pieces. Just suck up your spider and either head outside and fling it into the great outdoors or into the toilet. Little plastic pieces totally unnecessary.

Great with one little modification
Works great for its intended purpose EXCEPT that tiny bugs go through the smallish holes at the back of the tube and get chopped up by the fan. Also, I left a pretty decently sized, we'll say medium-ish, spider in there for about 10 mins and she skillfully managed to get through the same area and I thought my bf had let her go. I pushed the button and she got chopped up too (sorry spider). I took it apart, cleaned it out, and cut a small circlular piece of window screen to put over the piece that comes in it. (You wouldn't have to take it apart just to add the screen but I didn't want the bug guts in the motor.). Now it works great for any size bug!

Good product.
I've only had to use it once so far but it worked great to pick up a spider (I bought it too late in the year, there aren't many bugs here in the winter). Some reviewers complained the holes shielding the motor were too large and bugs got sucked in there, but mine has smaller holes than the one shown on the front of the box, so maybe they fixed that problem in newer ones.I was going to store it in the box but it took me a while to assemble when I needed it, seeing as how I had to keep one eye on the spider too. But it's awkward to store when assembled. I ended up tying a string around the handle (it stayed on because the handle is thicker near the end) and hung it on a hook in a closet.

Good but some caveat you should know first
There's a lot to like. Rechargeable, good quality construction. The suction is good too. But small spiders and insects get chewed up in the fan when it's powered up. The holes are too large at the bottom of the tube and they can enter into the motor. 5 stars when you add a fine mesh screen over the tube bottom housing the fan. It's advertised as a safe catch and release but that applies only to large insects. Otherwise they are ground up into smirherens.
