This camera isn't like most other webcams, in a good way and in a bad way.You can get a high precision picture if you have the patience to set it up and tweak the manual focus settings.It's described as a webcam you can use as a standard webcam but personally I'd use this as a security camera or more specalised camera system due to how the camera is built and how it operates. It's not a plug and play system that you could travel with easily, but if you wanted a webcam you can just set up at home and leave set up then it could work for you for sure.The picture from it is decent and can be pin sharp if you focus it correctly.It's very well built that's for sure, and has the latest technology inside it including a great video chip, and the body of the camera is built like a tank.I think this is a solid camera but just not sure what the best application is for it. Give it a go and get great results but dont' expect to travel with it and plug and play at your next destination etc

Not that impressed and very expensive for what you getWhat's in the box1 x ELP 4K Webcam,Ultra HD IMX317 USB Camera with 2.8-12mm Zoom Lens1 x Manual1 x pack of Raw plugs and screws (???)Firstly I can't work out for the life of me, WHY I had a pack of 2 x wall raw plugs and 2 x screws in along with this camera, as there is NO NEED for them ... that being said here is my review on the ELP 4K Webcam,Ultra HD IMX317 USB Camera with 2.8-12mm Zoom LensBuild qualityThe build quality is extremely good, but doesn't warrant the high priceMaterial qualityAgain as with its build quality the materials used was extremely good to excellentNow with the price being as high as it is, I have to be brutally honest and say, you can save yourself a lot of money and buy far better, if you'd just buy a cheap action camera to use as a Webcam!!!The video quality on the ELP 4K Webcam, is definitely not 4K and more closer to 1080p at a push.The Zoom facility that you get with the ELP was barely worth mentioning and the Ultra wide lens is horrible and the fisheye effects that you get, leaves dark part circle patches in each corner of the video/photoI could understand someone wanting something like this, if it had a 10x or 20x optical zoom present, but with just a 2.8-12mm Zoom Lens, it's just simply pointless, especially since you can use a cheap action camera as a Webcam that you can get in native 4k with sound and loads of other features in place and will work and produce video/pictures far better than this !!!The ELP Webcam is on the heavy side and trying to focus the lenses, takes time .Very disappointed for something that costs this much that has no sound and is just a barebones basic camera with manual focusing2 out of 5 stars from me, and sadly I would NOT recommend this to anyone.Maybe if this was true 4K and had the 10x or 20x optical zoom then I could justify in buying this, but how this stands its just seriously over priced

I have to say the optics in this camera are very very good, it is a good quality camera lense and once you have got the right focus is very sharp. Colour reproduction is good, not spectacular, there does tend to be a lack of colour but on the whole it is fine and perfectly manageable. It handles lighting well and if you have competing light sources it looks nice and balanced.However while the focus is very very good and motion is also handled really well, it is very very fiddly to get that focus, once set and locked it is fine but initially sorting that focus range can be a task because it is all manual and you have to move three rings round on the camera and then lock into place. It needs some set up but once done this will just stay for next time.I do think this camera has limited use for desktop, besides its excellent optics, because it has no easy way of mounting it anywhere.However essentially you have a fairly decent sized camera that is quite heavy and there is no way to attach it to a monitor and there is no tripod included. I would say it needs to be added to a shelf or something like that, not ideal for most people.It worked straight away on my PC, I plugged it in and was able to video conference straight away, no software needed at all.Its a very nice camera with good video but it is all manual and fiddly and not idea for many set ups but if you have the right one then its a good little camera.

ELP 4K Webcam (B08Y1L8GL5)High quality 4K video with manual focusWith its 3m of USB cable, optical zoom and wide angle, this webcam has many uses. The zoom and focus are each manually adjusted by loosening a small screw on the lens, adjusting, and then tightening up each screw again. This system works very well for choosing the best settings for the event or location.There is also a mid-ring that can be used to turn video off and on.No drivers were required for Windows 11, the webcam was instantly available for use by any existing software that you have installed. The small user guide also gives details of software that can be downloaded from the net to use with the webcam. I downloaded and used OBS and that worked fine.I am looking forward to testing lots of other scenarios but, for now, I am satisfied that the webcam does give a very high quality picture.

I'm quite happy with this camera. Seems to be a solid performer. It doesn't have the richest colors and the manual focus and zoom controls are very sensitive, but if you're careful and patient you can get good results
