Cute illustrations of a make-believe town with two types of paper used in printing – printed both sides of the page
The media could not be loaded. This is a really cute coloring book based on the imaginary story of a young girl walking through her town and seeing all of stores and other sights to see. The hand-drawn illustrations are very well done and will provide many hours of coloring fun. While the young girl is present in most designs, in some we get to see her town/shops as she does. The only slightly odd thing I discovered about the book is that it seems that two types of paper were used. They are both the same color (very light ivory) but the texture is different. Most of the pages have a slightly rough feel when I run my thumb across them. There are a few (less than half) that feel very smooth when I do the same test. I've only had this happen once before with a book, so I don't think this common and I question whether it was planned or not.As my pencils react slightly differently to both types of paper, I knocked a star off my rating because of this issue. In the comments area below, I will provide a full listing of the various coloring medium I used to test both styles of paper. The only slight difference I noted was with pencils.Apart from that, I really like the book. It is smaller than many of these style books (at only 9 x 9 inches) but I can still color the detailed drawings fairly easily. There are some area that have intricate and smaller elements to color. This is what I experienced while coloring and testing this book:68 pages of designs inspired by imaginary town (not including Title or intro pages)Designs are both sides of page with many two-page spreadsPaper is light ivory, medium weight, non-perforated and some pages are slightly rough while others are fairly smooth.Sewn BindingMany designs spread into the binding area (especially, of course, the two-page spread designs.)Alcohol-based markers bled through the page.Water-based markers either left noticeable shadows or bleed through in small spots.India ink pens and gel pens left colorful shadows on the back of the page. Gel pens took a longer time than normal to dry.Coloring pencils worked well with this paper. I was able to get good color from both wax and oil-based pencils. I was able to layer the same and multiple colors fairly easily. The rougher texture paper took the pigment well in light layers while the smoother texture paper took pigment well with one coat. Blending (with a blender stick) worked best with the rougher texture paper. I was able to blend with the smooth paper but it took a lighter touch to keep it from smearing.

A sweet little book
A very sweet little coloring book. The book is on the smaller side, but it takes pencils well (markers would bleed through). My only complaint would be the large amount of buildings to color (the book follows her through her town). Just seems like a lot of brown/gray to color, unless you want to start coloring buildings interesting colors ;) Side note--since the girl is shown repeatedly, I would suggest coloring her the first time and keeping track of what colors you use so she can look the same throughout the book.

Cute book
I love these books that tell a story as well as give me artistic inspiration. The pages are smaller than most, but not really disappointing at all. There are pictures on both front and back pages. Very cute book and won't take days of coloring to finish.Update: I still love these pictures and this book. I am now coloring a two page picture and I should've known I would want more detail and it is taking a while to complete. I think I started on it last weekend. I finished the first page and got a good bit done on the second page. I like to take time to blend colors and put in extras to make it more interesting. I have one caveat. I have already peeled off paper in two places on the first side. The paper is slick, very little tooth, and I chose oil based colors. Not a good combination but I am learning as I go. I would love to see this book with some paper than has a little more tooth. It is very slick and it is not holding as much color as I would like for it to. Still, an adorable book. I may end up tracing some of the pages on more toothy paper (is that a term?) and see if I can get better performance.p.s. I hate those two little holes. They might as well be craters!

Perfect Coloring Book if You Want to Visit a Little Town - Adorable 2 Page Scenes!
This coloring book is absolutely lovely! If you want to color in a book that takes you away to a fun little town, then this is the coloring book for you. The paper is quite thick, high quality and not toothy at all so it won't wear down your pencil crayon leads if you are coloring using pencil crayons. I use PrismaColor Premiere soft core pencils and they look really nice in this book. I like the two page spreads so it really feels like you've traveled to a distant little town while you are coloring. The only negative is that it is printed double sided, so eventually my beautiful colors that I've colored on one picture will blend in with the opposite side. Other than that though, this is really a fun little coloring book. It is smaller in size than most coloring books I've purchased, however I like having one that is small (but not too small) that I can easily take with me in my bag. There are lots of little details to color but it's not filled with too much tiny stuff that eventually makes you cross eyed or bored coloring. Just a perfect blend of everything fun. All in all a great coloring book!

My Colorful Town: A coloring Tour
This book is a very sweet one. In my opinion, I would have preferred a larger print on each page and also a more pronounced design by the Illustrator. There are great designs in this book, it is not for everyone...especially those who seek a challenge in their final outcome. I think for early starters in coloring...this is a nice beginning book..

Really lovely images, highly recommended
This book is just gorgeous, really lovely images that take me back to my childhood where I would spend days colouring such images, eons ago. The book is a little smaller than the big square books from Millie Marotta or Johanna Basford, but it's still a decent size. Not many examples online of coloured pages, but pinterest has a fair few and there's a facebook group for those who share their coloured images. If you're looking for a book that's not so well known, but ready and waiting for you to make your mark, this is it.

People ask which are the best pencils, no you should ask which is the ...
Lovely thick paper. People ask which are the best pencils, no you should ask which is the best paper as that is most important..The cheapest pencils can have a great effect on superior paper. I have every pencil going and I find cheap and expensive work well on this good quality book. Non kiddie like, interesting drawings and a whole lot of fun.

A Gem :)
This is a lovely book with just excellent paper quality. It is smaller than usual size of books like the Romantic Country series but the pictures are beautiful and the theme of outside/inside make it both interesting and fun to colour. I just love it.
