Great mic for the money. I use it in a blimp and use xlr cable to a field recorder and am very impressed with the sound. Use it more than my Rode.

The media could not be loaded.  This is my first gun mic, but it surprised me.Firstly, the housing is not plastic, it is aluminum. The aluminum casing is highly shielded, effectively blocking electromagnetic interference and making the recorded sound much cleaner.In addition, it has a low-cut filter function, which cuts out the bottom noise and is indicated by an indicator.Importantly, the microphone has 2 types of power supply. One is powered by the connected device and the other is by battery. I was surprised by the battery power, as it is a good choice for shooting long hours of outdoor videos.There are probably some features that I haven't discovered yet, as I just got this mic. I like the microphone so far.

Much better than expected.No hiss and no ambient pickupBeats my Rode NTG-2 in every way but sound quality in perfect conditions.I sent all 3 variations of Rode back and kept the BOYA and Sennheiser 600.

First of all I have to say that I got this Mic without understanding the strengths and weaknesses of a shotgun mic. I found it to be best used inside a controlled environment. I didn't find it to be a good outside mic where there is background noise. I think I really like it more for the look of it on a smartphone rig or even my camcorder more than for the recording with it. Like I said earlier it is good for a controlled atmosphere where there isn't much if any background noise. You do need to download the App as well to get the most out of this Mic. The app does change the capabilities of your smartphone also. I wasn't able to use the Portrait video on my Iphone while using the App. These are things you should consider if purchasing this Mic. And you do need to have the mic as close as you can to get the best audio.

Bought it for recording nature sounds with an H1N Zoom Recorder. I found that unless the audio been recorded is very close and loud, the microphone does not work well.Returning it.

I think I just under rated this product by error. I found the mic worked very well, my problem was with the phantom power suppy I bought. it did not work and untill I plugged into my mixing board I was stumped.
