It might but I can’t say as I haven’t tried it. I just clip it to my work pants.

Donald Johnson gave good advice. “ A: Get a tape measure and see how long you are by draping it diagonally down your back and then across your front as if it was a suspender. You might need someone to help you. Measure that and get the item closest to that in size. They are adjustable and stretchable, so you only need to get close and it will work.” We did this and got the correct size.

My Husband is portly 5'9" and has discovered these are very true to their height suggestion, with plenty of slack for comfort, as he bought the 48" designed for 5'9" to 6'2" and it fits him perfectly with the adjuster slide pulled up high on his chest so there is plenty of slack to fit even a portly 6'2" guy. So my suggestion for portly 5'7" is to get the 42" for 5' to 5'9 and it should fit just right. These are the best suspenders he has ever tried and wears them all the time, not just when travelling. They fit, they are comfortable and they don't pop off all the time. He loves them. Hope you do too.
