Wonderful closed emitter Red Dot
I must say, I have always liked Sight Mark, not the best but by no means bad. I really wanted to try a closed emitter Red dot. I picked up a Swamp Fox Kraken also during a Christmas sale. I cannot afford an ACRO... Yes I know I spent more than that on two, but yeah I have two... anyway, back to the review. This optic sits LOW and I mean low, standard suppressor height sights clear it with ease, you can almost get away with stock irons for co-witness, yes that's how low it sits. No need for extra tall iron sights (the Swamp Fox need some extra tall ones...) I love the solar panel backup and I usually hate the non-adjustable red dot brightness. This one has auto bright tech. I must admit it is neat how it works. in a dark house but looking out the window (into sunlight) it is bright as heck. with lights on in the house, dimmer. With no lights and nighttime, it is dim, but shows up nicely. So far have only put 100 rounds down range but it has held zero. Does not add a lot of weight so doesn't mess with the cycling of the slide. On top of everything it looks Freaking good.In comparison to the Swamp Fox Kraken:1. Swamp Fox has manual adjustment for brightness (+)2. Kraken sits higher due to their mounting system and optic plate system.3. Kraken is slightly heavierNot sure how this doesn't have any reviews yet.Anyway, if you want to dip your toes in the closed emitter pool, this is a good candidate.
