I'm not a tech-savvy person by any means. So hopefully this review will help someone who; like me just needed something to make our PC go faster.What lead me to this purchase:We recently purchased a new Dell PC to be used in our homeschool classroom. Unbeknownst to me, when we purchased the computer it did not have the capability to use 5G network speeds we pay for. It only ran the 2.4 G speeds that everyone else seems to be using in our "close knit" (cute way of saying all the houses are SO close together) subdivision. Herein lies the problem as I understand it.Not only am I using the 2.4G speeds but so is my neighbor, their neighbor and the baby moniter, the DVD player and smart phone, tablet this and that. So we had our service provider come out to help diagnos any underlying cause of slow speeds and he "changed the channel" on our network to a slightly lesser used but still incredibly slow.We had a few options at this point.The old school way: buy a 100 foot cable and snake it ALL the way from the back of the router along the floor boards & ceiling and plug it in to the back of the desktop thus having a direct hardwired connection. Doable but a pain to do and otherwise eyesore.Buy a new router (most expensive option)Use a "powerline" that is like the 100 foot cable but instead has 2 parts. 1 that connects from the router to the wall, then the second piece connects from the wall to the tower thus creating a "hardwired" connectionOr use this little device that is a dual band usb version of a wireless card.In a nutshell this small and simple device turned my slow as molasses desktop that was running on 2.4G to a speed freak running on our 5G wireless network.

Too difficult to successfully install. kept trying and looked for better instructions, but no luck. went on vacation and missed the return deadline. Bummer.Bought Edimax AC 1750 Dual Band USB 3.0 adapter at Fry's. Installed quickly and easily on desktop computer with windows. Doubled my download speed so i am now getting the WI Fi I am paying for.note: Desktop is older model, so was not getting full benefit of my increase WI Fi speed. other tablets, smart phone, etc. are newer than my desktop so they were getting better speed....Would like to install on wife's computer, but still have not figured how to get better instructions.

I did love the reception this dongle picked up. I also loved that the antenna could be unscrewed for traveling to avoid breakage. Unfortunately, The USB portion of mine actually cracked and broke off while left inside my USB port. I believe it may have been damaged while I was carrying my laptop around in my backpack so I do not fault the product. I recommend it

I'm only giving this 2 stars because the mini cd software disc would not run in any of my computers. I contacted the seller, got no response whatsoever. This product would probably be GREAT, IF you could install the software! I couldn't find anything online to download, tried this disc for windows 7 & 10, no luck! I didn't bother returning it, too much aggravation for something under $20. I won't purchase from this seller again though.

My PC wireless adapter was only 2.4 gz. I just plugged this one in and now get faster 5gz coverage. Excellent value. Very satisfied!

Good price and connection is consistant double speedtest speeds from old wireless card.

Works good at first but it is easily breakable and loosens up in the USB very quickly..

ok, difficile a installer

I like it easy to install but i only get 65mbps out of a 120mbps .. bad antena strenght? my iphone can get 120 at the same position.
