Reliable Z-Wave Dimmer
I installed these in a set of bedside lamps. I like that I can use the original on/off switch of the lamp (I custom wired it into this unit). This way we can use our phones to turn the lamp on and off, as well as the original switch. Good response time on this using HomeSeer. Wish I could set a 0 dim rate on these, the the lowest I can set it is 1 second. That's my only grip with these, maybe Aeotec will release a firmware update! These are very compact and I was able to squeeze them in the base of my lamps. No flickering with LED bulbs.

This worked for my needs
I wanted Z-wave dimmers for a pair of sconces over a mantelpiece which were connected to AC plugs with wires through the chains. See the attached picture. I bought a pair of matched Lutron non-standard plug and receptacle so that it was impossible to plug anything other than the sconce to the dimmed side. The bottom (normal) receptacle is unswitched and can be used, for example, for a guest's cell phone charger - but not the top one. Previously, I was using an Insteon dimmed receptacle but I wanted to replace it with Z-Wave and there are no equivalent Z-Wave devices. The Aeotec dimmer module fit nicely in the junction box behind the receptacle and the whole setup works exactly as I wanted and is safe.

Works well, tight fit
Wired this at the fixture as I had a multiple gang boxes at each location of a three way switch and there just wasn’t enough space for the wire bundles, conventional switches and the dimmer. Works well however. Integrates well with SmartThings and Alexa.

Reliable
I have had good luck with aeotec devices. These were bought for custom made desk lights. I’ve had a couple of these installed in wall boxes for house lights for years now, they’ve been solid.

Good dimmer, but USA models must be used ONLY in the USA
Have to give these a 5 star rating based on the fact that I've seen them at work elsewhere, and they work well.HOWEVER...buyers outside the USA: I stupidly thought Z-Wave was Z-Wave, but it's not. There are heaps of different frequencies, and the USA Z-Wave frequency (908 MHz) is not legal nor does it work in Aus or NZ with local Z-Wave devices, which transmit at 921 MHz here. So, with a heavy heart and cursing my lack of due diligence, I had to return these dimmers.Oh, one last thing: if you are going to use them on small LED lights, like 4 watts, you will need a bypass or else you will get flicker at lower brightness levels. Yes, everything you read about this is true.

Works, but watch the current limit
I do a lot of things with home automation, and I recently installed a few of these Aeotec Nano Dimmers. They're fairly small and high quality products that work as advertised and can be used inside lights and wall switches to give you remote control and dimming capabilities.Only negative is the limited capacity of these things - 140 watts, or 1.2 amps. While I'm happy to use them with LED fixtures where there's not much chance of anything else being installed, I'm a little apprehensive to use them for things like controlling generic recessed lighting "cans". I might be okay with a string of 8-watt LED flood lamps, but the next homeowner might not know that one of these is installed behind the wall switch. If he replaces my six 8-watt floods with six conventional incandescent bulbs, he will definitely overload the Nano.Because of this, I'm careful to install the Nano's only where I'm sure there won't be a way to swap bulbs and put the device over its limits.Other than this limitation, the device definitely works well. I have no trouble managing it with either Homeseer or my Vera automation controllers, and it seems to deliver exactly what's needed. A device this size and form factor that could handle 1200W or so would be ideal for me...but if your needs can be met with 140 watts, this is a great device.

Great product
Worked perfect for some under cabinet lighting. Would definitely buy again. Aeotec makes great quality products. This is among many items I own by them
