Small, quiet, discreet, washable(?!)
Fidgets are a mainstay in our family. These have been such a hit that I have purchased 3 pairs so far. My recipients like tactile, brain-stimulating sorts of things. I like having a discreet option, for certain occasions that warrant it (like official ceremonies, weddings, church, plays/theater, etc.). This seems to satisfy. But it is too small for children under 3--because it is small enough to swallow.Pros:Small, silent, discreet, comes apart for cleaning, survived washing machine (it was an accidental wash), nice heft, fits into small spaces like pocket, purse, etc. Comes with a case, though it's rarely in it. hehe.About the build:It is made of metal. It has three parts that screw and snap together. We bought the gold/silver version, so I'll refer to those colors. The middle gold-toned gear part has the ball bearings inside, so the tiny ball bearings do not come loose. We learned that when one was left in a pocket and machine washed with the laundry. It survived, albeit with a darker brass look. That gear piece snaps onto the shaft or axle of one of the two end pieces--it's a tough snap, so it doesn't just fall off. The two end pieces--the silver (or black, if you choose that color scheme)--screw together in the middle. The gear piece with its ball bearings rotates around the central axle. It's really helpful that these unscrew. Pet hair got into the gear and the recipient simply unscrewed the two halves to remove the hair. (He had been rolling it across the floor over and over in a game he made up.)About the use:The fidget is small, but the metal has a pleasant heft to it. You can hold it between forefinger and thumb in a sort of pinch and spin it with a finger of the same hand, or different hand. As it spins, it gives a satisfying tactile feedback. It is smooth enough to feel soothing, but has just enough wobble or friction-feedback to be interesting and make the brain want to check it out further. At least, that's what happened with each person I gave it to. Each held it, set it spinning, then grinned. Then they'd stop it in various ways--a fingertip gently applied to the gears' edges, or a fingernail were the most common, but face/chin, tabletop, shirt cuff, were also employed as additional cause-and-effect variables. The fidget is very quiet. I don't dare say silent because keen ears can hear it, but definitely far more quiet than other fidgets we have tried.Cons:We haven't seen any yet, and we've been using these for several months now. But just in case these are cons for you, I will mention that the shiny bright brass does darken to more "antiqued" brass over time. The silver does get that patina/matted look over time and use. For us, it's like a stuffed animal that is so loved it looks "worn"--the fidget looks broken in or worn over time. Also, it is giftable but it is small. Think ring-sized or earring-sized. So plan your giftwrap accordingly if you want a big impact. For moms with magic purses, these are really helpful additions that still allow us to pack light/small. For kids and adults who like tactile feedback in a small item, this may be a good option. Lots of physics in this. Best wishes!

Great quality, smooth spin. Replaced my last mini that had bearing issues.

Well made but seriously small
These appear to be well-made and durable enough to withstand my four children fidgeting with him frequently. However they are almost comically small. We did not do a good enough job checking the product description.

Love them
Love that they’re small and can be used with one hand so everyone is staring at me playing with it all day.

The outside isn’t metal
Only the gear in the middle is metal. The silver parts are plastic-y. I’m disappointed that it doesn’t have the weight I imagined, but I still end up spinning them at my desk all the time.
