Smart move
Had a GE dehumidifierfor 20 years. That's a long time. The new one is operating great. Simple operation and does its job.

Excellent for our Basement
This was purchased to help the moisture level in our 300-square-foot basement be maintained. I found that during the summer months, the basement not only smelled funky, but the carpet started to feel moist. I have two of these in the basement because we have a window near the ceiling and wanted to ensure moisture wasn't coming through the window. I've been pleased with it. It's very easy to set up and the tank holds quite a bit of water before needing to be emptied.

Don’t buy this piece of junk
We bought this in July 2023. It worked well for one season. We tried using it this season, but it wouldn’t work. We went through the troubleshooting tips in the manual and still no joy. I called GE support. Since it’s a dehumidifier, they were not going to waste any time trying to troubleshoot it with us over the phone. Now the warranty process starts. This is the process as described in an email to me:1. Please send a picture of the receipt and model/serial number tag.2. After I’ve received this information, I will process your Good Will Certificate or rebate.3. You can purchase your new GE unit within 24hrs after you have received confirmation that your certificate has been processed.4. Once you’ve purchased your new appliance, you will then mail in a copy of the new receipt along with the Certificate that you received in the mail. (The address will be listed on the certificate). The rebate is valid for 90 days. Once you’ve mailed this in, we will reimburse you in the form of a check. This process will take 6-8 weeks. So, if the new dehumidifier is cheaper than the original one, GE doesn’t give me the difference. If the new dehumidifier is more expensive than the original one, GE doesn’t give me the difference. If the new dehumidifier breaks, I have to play this game all over again.

Keeps humidity down
Quiet & efficient, this helps a lot with my garage. Added the hose to drain constantly, and it works very well. Will be picking another one up for my basement, as it is very humid in the summer.

Workhorse!
We have a 1200 sq ft unfinished basement. We had issues with mold and water pooling. We remediated them but we live in GA where it’s hot and humid most of the year. This is a workhorse that runs and keeps humidity below 40%. It has wifi enabled capabilities. It shuts off when needed on smart setting. It has a drain hose for continuous emptying and also has an easy to use bucket in case drain hose can’t be used. It will shut off if bucket fills and you may need to empty daily if you use this method (depending how humid your house is).We love this. It was was well worth the money!

Removes a lot of water in my basement during summer the system needs to be emptied every morning. System has a drain hose but not feasible in the middle of the basement

Good quality, runs fairly quiet, and the pump is nice
Our last dehumidifier was a pain because it just used a regular hose to drain and we would frequently have issues with it getting bumped or moved or getting clogged. This one has been such a nice change of a pace and I love how quiet it is. We run it consistently in the basement and it’s nice that I can put the hose in the sink rather than laying it across the floor.

The dehumidifier failed after a year
I purchased this GE Dehumidifier on April 20,2023. It worked good all that summer. When I tried to use it this year in May 2024, it no longer worked. It runs but it does not remove any moisture. After several days of running it the water tank was dry. It shows 65% humidity on the gauge when you start it. After several hours the gauge drops to 40% and the unit shuts off at the preset level of 40%, but there is no water in the tank. When I unplug it and plug it back in it goes back to 65% and repeats to 40% with no water in the tank. This the second GE humidifier I have owned that failed within or around a year. I will never buy another GE appliance.
