The AQ-MF-1 is independently tested and certified to NSF standards by IAPMO. I can use this and skip the extra faucet? Enough filtered water to get through hand washing, dishwashing etc?

If you mean you want to connect the cold water line of your kitchen faucet to this filter, then Yes. However, the filter is going to severely reduce the flow of cold water. You're going to find that extremely annoying. Additionally, having so much water filtered (not just for drinking but also for your handwashing, food washing, dishwashing) means your filter is going to get clogged sooner. You're going to have to buy/replace this filter several times a year instead of just twice a year.

Will this filter remove trihalomethane?

Yes. The performance data sheet indicates that this filter removes 95% of four substances listed as trihalomethanes (THMs) - bromodichloromethane, bromoform, chloroform, and chlorodibromomethane.
