Really good quality trainers
Really pleased with the quality and comfort of these. Extra width is perfect for anyone with less narrow feet. Worth every penny

Wasn't sure about buying shoes online, but so far so good
Many, many years ago I had a hang gliding accident that tore all the tendons in my left foot. While mostly recovered I have tended to favour that foot with the result that it seems I now have a bunion which became extremely painful. So much so that wearing my normal shoes the mile into town had become a trial. Visiting local shoe and outdoor shops did not reveal any outlet selling extra wide shoes (I'd found a chart on the internet that described what was required for each shoe size). To make things more difficult I take 11.5, and many shoe manufacturers don't make half sizes. So I came across Fitville on Amazon, who not only make half sizes, but also wide, extra wide and extra extra wide shoes. In addition, unlike most UK sellers, they don't stop at size 12 so if you have larger than average feet you could be in luck. I did have qualms about buying online since shoe sizes can vary so it's usually a good idea to try on pairs before buying. However these turned up, easily big enough in size, and with a width that does not apply pressure on my recalcitrant left big toe. In fact, as another reviewer had pointed out (yes I read other peoples' reviews before buying) they do feel a little loose around the heel, however that can be rectified by tightening the laces which tend to stick in position unless tightened at the crossover level and then pulling the slack up to the top of the tongue. This is a bit hit and miss since you then need to walk around a bit to see how effective you've been, but I guess you can still get there in the end. Finally, a number of reviewers commented on how grippy the sole was (or rather wasn't). Now the fact is that even the best soles won't grip everything. I've also in the past done some multi-day, long distance treks complete with full backpack with tent, sleeping bag, cooking equipment etc. and generally used walking boots with Vibram soles, reckoned to be one of the top materials. However having survived rock strewn mountains I have occasionally slipped on those highly polished marble like slabs that seem to get used a lot in shopping centres, so I know that nothing is 'bullet proof' when it comes to grip. With regard to the Fitville shoes, so far I've not had any problems. The tread pattern isn't as reassuring as you'd find on expensive walking shoes, however as mentioned, although I've been out in wet ground conditions I haven't had any problems. I haven't been out in them when it's raining so can't comment on their water resistance., Overall I consider them to be a great buy since it means I can at least walk a few miles without discomfort, and at a very good price. In fact, I've ordered a pair by Fitville (different style) for my wife who tends to need wide fitting shoes (and a half size).

God send for those with plantar fascititis
I got my second pair of these trainers. I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot, &, I use these for work. With decent insoles, (I use scholl plantar fasciitis pain relief insoles), they are a bit of a god send. Comfortable & supportive from the moment you try them on & so they really help when you're on your feet all day. My first pair was the same & lasted approximately 9 to 10 months before needing to be replaced. When you think about how hours, over that time, I had worn them they are value for money. Of course anyone with plantar fasciitis would probably pay anything for the pain to ease, &, these do the job without a massive expenditure.

Quality shoes
Took me a while, lots af research. I usually buy sketches but I'm having trouble getting wider fit shoes. These are quality shoes and give me lots of room for my toes. I went for the wide fit not the extra wide and they fit and feel wonderful.

Would have been 5 star
Bought because of swollen feet and ankles and fed up of tight fitting shoes with no room in the toe box. First impressions were great, loads of room, very comfortable, thought they seemed like they would last for a good while. After wearing them for work 5 days a week for about 2 months, I'm already not very impressed with the sole. It's wearing quite heavily across the main tread and I don't think it will last over the winter. I think in hindsight, I would try another pair but find one that has a more pronounced tread as I love the comfort.

Genuine wide fit, High shock absorption, Great value.
FitVille Mens Extra Wide Fit Trainers Running / walking shoes Size 9. Mainly very positive. I suffer from Plantar Fasciitus periodically. I am a standard size 9 but usually have to buy size 9.5 in trainers to get the right width. These Fitville trainers are genuinely wider fit not just in the toe are but the whole trainer, so a size 9 fits perfectly. The shock absorbtion is very high particularly in the heel area, and arch support seems ok but not as pronounced as say my ASIC trainers. Broadly a very comfortable trainer . I haven't tried them in the gym so far, preferring my regular Asic trainers, so just used for general walking around. I will give them a few gym sessions to see how they cope with some rougher treatment. At the price £53.00 they represent good value for money. I have deducted 1 star because of the design of the back of the heel. This is quite high and well cushioned so comfortable, however, it does tend to impede getting my feet into the trainer in the first place. Even with laces loosened most of the way down my foot still catches the heel and as it is very soft it pushes down into the trainer. If this keeps happening in a short time the heel will become very warn and soft and the heel support will be degraded. if the heel was slightly stiffer to make putting the trainers on easier I would have given them 5 stars.

These shoes are great. I pretty much wore a pair out, after wearing them for a couple of years, out so it was time to replace them. I ordered the same size as before (8.5 EW) and but when the new ones arrived, they were significantly smaller than the ones I currently have (same size). I took a pic with the shoes side by side and it was very easy to see the difference in size. I returned them (Amazon makes it incredibly easy) and ordered another pair, but larger (9.5 EW). These fit well. Apparently, these 9.5s had been returned by someone else because the bottom of the shoes were dirty, indicating that they had been worn outside. The rest of the shoes had no indication of wear and I'm not going to sweat it. The 2 previous pairs I ordered years ago from Fitville had no problems. My bottom line: Small issues aside, the comfort of these shoes, especially with the wide box, makes these Fitvilles an incredible shoe, especially for the price.
