The Perfect Stroke (Lucas Brothers) [Marie, Jordan, Harper, Robin, Banner, Daryl, Stokes, Michael] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Perfect Stroke (Lucas Brothers) Review: WOW! Another Knockout from Jordan! I love the Crayon Boys! - OMG! Everything Jordan writes is pure gold! She is the original one-click author for me!!! I started reading her books with Breaking Dragon and fell head over heels in love with Dragon and Nicole. I haven't looked back. I received an ARC copy for an honest opinion, but I will be the first to admit I went ahead and one-clicked my purchase of this book as soon as it went live. I want to always have Jordan's books to re-read upon demand. Although I fell in love with Jordan's MC boys, I have to say, I love any type of man she writes about. When I found out she had a pen name of Baylee Rose, I was like "WTF!?!?!? I've been missing out!" When she said she was going to write a romcom, I didn't know what to expect because her characters are so funny and the books are riveting. I was fully expecting to love her romcom venture. AND I DID! I had never read a book about a golfer before and didn't know if I was going to be able to get into the book, but I figured, "hey, it's Jordan, it'll be great!" Well, I wasn't disappointed! Gray is somewhat of a player jerk, but little CC firmly puts him in his place. He is sexy, alpha, and such a bad boy, it is unreal! CC is fiesty, sweet, and balls-to-the-walls type of girl that I love to read about. I didn't know how a mechanic and a a pro golfer were going to play well in the sandbox together, but, boy do they! The sex was hot, the dialogue was laugh-out-loud funny, and the extended family are seriously kooky! I can't wait to read about the Crayon Boys! LOL I love the mother, Ida Mae, and her man, Jansen! The whole cast of characters will leave you in stitches. True to Jordan's style of writing, you love some characters, and you truly hate others! She makes the characters so real, you feel like you could drive to the small Kentucky town and start looking for them. To say I am looking forward to Whitehall's book is an understatement. My only negative I have about any of Jordan's books is they are not on pre-order. I seriously feel like a stalker on desertcart googling titles on her release day! LOL BUT THAT IS THE ONLY NEGATIVE I CAN FIND WITH HER WRITING! Still, I'll gladly stalk Jordan Marie/Baylee Rose/ MY HERO to get a peek into one of her worlds. Please, Jordan, don't EVER stop writing! The PPP and the world needs you! #JordanholicsForever #PPPOnDuty Review: Cute - I am a big fan of Jordan Marie so I eagerly purchased this book which is the start of a new series. This book is nothing like her MC series, which is much darker and sensual. This book is lighter and focuses on Gray Lucas , a pro golfer and Claudia Cooped, who owns a car garage. They have a two night stand that's hot and steamy and then run into each other again when his car breaks down. The couple goes from lust to like to love, but the road to HEA is difficult! because Claudia really doesn't trust anyone because of a painful past. The book is somewhat predictable but the characters are well written and very likeable. I liked the sex scenes but thought there were too many and they lacked the intensity of her earlier books. I guess I liked the book because while its much lighter than her other books, it was still a sweet love story that is predictable but well written. I also liked the book because it was really funny. Gray and Claudia were both hilarious and my favorite character is Gray's crazy mother, she really made the book for me! I really loved the way Gray fought for their relationship and he gave Claudia the space she needed to figure out her feelings for him. This is a cute, enjoyable summer read. I didn't read the bonus book because it was about dominance and submission, which is not my cup of tea.

Thank you for the memories
Jordan Marie did a fantastic job with this novel! She created a phenomenal family dynamic for the Lucas family! Gray is a man who is a professional golfer, who wants to find love and settle down in life, he had no idea it would take a one night stand to find the one. We see Gray go from a stuck up prudish man to a man who starts to appreciate what he has and realizes that none of it is permanent and none of it matters with out someone to love and to be loved by the woman you want to spend forever with. CC is a sassy woman who has had it tough in life. She has never had a free pass and has had to work hard for everything she has earned and wanted. CC goes to the bar in the next town over to find someone that she can have a good time with who does not know her from the small town she has grown up in. Little did she know that the sexy golfer who walks into the bar and leaves with her for an amazing night of amazing pleasure would sweep her off her feet and make her heart feel things she has never allowed it to feel. This creates her to become scared and complacent in her life. She does not want to be hurt and does not want to take chances on things that could never last. CC wants her family to be proud of her and she wants to be proud of herself, so making choices and taking chances with Gray and letting herself experience things that she has denied herself for so long is hard to let go of. This story takes the reader on their ride to find themselves as individuals but also as partners in life. Jordan Marie had me feeling like I was a part of the family by the time I was finished reading. Her humor is fantastic and I found myself laughing a lot and crying as well. My heart felt for Gray and CC and I did not want their story to end. This family that Jordan Marie has created is a huge family and they all have their unique stories and lives that I hope we get to find out and read about soon. I do not have a lot of family and I have always wanted one, reading this book gave me a feeling of what real family love is about and how no matter how much a family fights or how different they all may be the only thing that matters and keeps them going as a family is the love they have for one another. Thank Jordan Marie for giving me something to hold onto and for creating these characters to make me feel a sense of wholeness and belonging.

5 STARS!! A super sexy, very funny romcom!
As a fan of Jordan Marie's since her first book was released, it's a given that if she releases it, I will read it. Up to this point, all of her books have been MC books. I loved every single one of them. Her writing never fails to move me, to shock me, to make me feel. So when I got this book from her, I have to say I was a bit surprised. A romcom? About a golf pro hero and a mechanic heroine?! From Jordan Marie?!?! I hate to pigeonhole an author, it's not fair to them, and I'm not implying here that Jordan was, it's just that when I think of her work, I immediately think of gripping, gritty, raw emotion. I think of hardened, tattooed men and strong-willed and sassy heroines. But after reading The Perfect Stroke, I'm thrilled to say that sexy romantic comedy is yet another genre that totally fits within Jordan Marie's wheelhouse. She is a natural, folks, and she totally nailed it! This book was so funny and so very sexy. I loved everything about Gray and CC--the chase, their off-the-charts chemistry and their fabulous banter. I loved all the secondary characters, especially Gray's family, and I am praying to the gods of written romcoms that they bless Jordan Marie with inspiration so that we get their stories as well. She totally took me by surprise with this book, and it was an amazing thing. As a long time fan, to see her spreading her wings and taking flight in a different direction was, well, exhilarating and a breath of fresh air. Truthfully, I shouldn't have been surprised though, I've extolled the virtues of Jordan's exceptional writing abilities in reviews of her previous works, but still, there is no other way to say it than I was surprised, in the very best of ways. I've always said that Jordan is a natural storyteller, and never ever has it been more evident than it was here in this book. I adore romantic comedies, and The Perfect Stroke was a fantastic one. So if you're thinking about picking up this book, but you're a bit wary, don't be. Let go of what you think you know of Jordan Marie and read this book.

4 1/2 stars! Steamy contemporary romance that is LOL hilarious!
Start of a series that launched the Lucas story universe. Features a couple of potential triggers, so examples are listed below. Definitely written with a sense of humor! Not sure where Jordan Marie came up with some of the things in the dialogue, but caused me to laugh until I cried at times. ⛔️ Contains references to, or scenes detailing subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including adult language; derogatory terms; mental health issues; steamy adult intimate scenes with exhibitionism, dominance, submission, FMF, etc.; violence such as fighting, assault, parental negligence and abuse, betrayal, cheating (not the H/h), etc. There are some grammatical issues, but nothing difficult to interpret. Primarily incorrect word choice, missing words, and extra inserted words. I am mentioning these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, as errors interrupt the flow. The main issue I had with this is the names. Such as Gray’s mother’s name is first listed as Peace Lily and then later changed to Ida Sue. Then the incorrect spelling of Grayson’s name throughout. In the text he is Grayson and Gray, but at the beginning of his chapters it is spelled as Grey. This might seem minor, but it was very frustrating for me because I noticed it every time and in the beginning I wasn’t for sure which spelling was correct. In this story CC, aka Claude and Claudia, meet in a hotel bar and they end up spending the weekend together before she sneaks out early on Sunday morning. Both think about the other, but neither expects to meet again. And then Fate intervenes … Gray is a professional golfer who got some bad publicity when a sex tape featuring him with two females is made without his knowledge and posted on-line. His attorneys get it removed from that site, but once on the internet, always on the internet, and it costs him his sponsorship and labels him the bad boy of golf. Now unless he can get someone with some sway with the powers that be, he will have to go back to the “less than desirable” courses to earn enough wins to get back to the big leagues. So that is why Gray is currently traveling the back roads of Kentucky to meet a potential new sponsor when his car stops suddenly. His luck is holding as he spots a garage up ahead, so he walks to it for some assistance. CC is in a great mood after the best interlude of her life. She is in the middle of changing the oil on a car, when she hears the last voice she thought she would … Gray. She was so surprised that she ended up with oil all over her face! CC wheels the crawler out from under the car not sure what to expect. Gray doesn’t recognize her and acts like an a$$ questioning everything and even asks to speak with her boss. The quicker she can get him on his way the better!

Entertaining
Easy to follow stand-alone. No editing errors, graphic violence or drag-you-down drama. Predictable plug and play with a storyline that bounces between the two lead characters. Each chapter clearly marked so the reader is not confused. Believable dialogue and characters with distinct personalities. No desire to re-read this story. I may be interested in other works by this author. Remember this is my personal opinion and and does not reflect on the author.

So funny
CC has a one-night stand with Gray. She knows nothing about him, and he's glad she does not know who he is. A few days later Gray's car breaks down as he is driving to a meeting. There is a garage almost next to his broken down car which he goes to for help. Turns out it is owned by CC but he does not recognize her in her work gear. She recognizes him and is put out that he does not recognize her. Eventually he does and starts chasing her. When she finds out why he is in town, she tries to stay away but he won't let her. Both are starting to have strong feelings for the other but won't let the other know. Can they work it out? I loved this story! I laughed so hard tears streamed down my cheeks. I skunk scene and the resultant scene after that were the funniest I have ever read! I could picture it all. I loved CC (Claude, Claudia). She was so strong and able, not going to let Gray (Grayson) get away with anything. Gray is wonderful. Even their fights were fun to watch. Somehow, they both managed to get what they wanted. The secondary characters of Gray's family were great. His mother, Ida Sue, is a hoot! I loved her outspokenness. I loved that she ruled over a family that was just as crazy as she was. Their hearts were as big as Texas. I am so glad I will have the opportunity to read more of this family and Ida Sue. The villains got what they deserved. I loved that scene when Ida Sue gave them their comeuppance. Cannot wait to read more.

Excellent!
I went out of my normal genre of shape shifters & vampire erotica to give this book a read. I only got the sample at first. When I'd read as far as that took me, I immediately bought the entire book! Jordan Marie has a way of telling the story from each character's point of view in a way like I've never read before — and I really enjoyed it. I usually find that the male character's "voice" is more of the, "Me man. Woman deal with it." type of psyche. Not that I don't enjoy that type of man, but it was fun reading a man who can be just as romantic, scared, silly, and neurotic as any woman. To top it of, Gray Lucas knows exactly what a woman wants in bed. Or on the kitchen table. Against a wall. On a golf course.... ok, just kinda on a golf course! Gray and CC's story is compelling because it's so down-to-earth. Both characters are amazing, and I hope we'll be seeing more of them in the upcoming stories. I can't wait to see how the rest of the "crayon brothers" are going to handle love. And I definitely want more of Ida Sue, the charmingly crazy, hilarious mother of the Lucas clan! I found "The Perfect Stroke" a touching, fun, and sexy romantic romp. And sexy. Did I mention sexy?
