Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition - Xbox One

Such a fun game, will buy more from them in the future!!

Souls are the best games out there. They remind me of a time where you didn't have youtube and the internet to ask for help. You and your friends had to figure it out and shared stories at school the next day. These games are hard, fun and rewarding. Other people who try to complain and say oh well if you didn't play the first 2 you wont like this,,,that is not true. Some of these silly reviewers here dont realize Dark souls 3 was like the Skyrim of souls games. Everyone new to the series most started out on dark souls 3 and it made the series hella popular. This game is great, amazing combat, amazing ambiance and great soundtrack. These games are not for casual players. It is tough and its ment to be tough. So if you dont like tough games this isn't for you, and you dont have the right to complain either. 99 percent of the market is made for casual people who like easy games, so plz dont come to the game that is built for hardcore people and complain, Yall have a great day.

DS3 is probably my favorite of the series. The difficulty progression feels smoothed out. I found the centralized shops and NPCs to be a pleasant experience, requiring less extra travel and trying to remember where different people are. Gameplay is definitely more linear than its predecessors, which is a mixed bag. On the one hand I enjoyed the extra open-worldness of 1 and 2, but this was the first DS game I didn't get completely stuck because I forgot or just missed some obscure path somewhere. The visuals really shine, with very rich colors and environments, with lots of open spaces. I will miss of course the nostagia of DS1 playing for the first time, figuring out all the mechanics so painfully, but with its slightly more polished feel, I would recommend DS3 to anyone I was trying to get started on Dark Souls.

The game is challenging but rewarding when you finally beat a boss or enemy after losing a lot of times.

The music, the settings, the lore, and of course the battles. I love them both, but if I had to hypthetically choose between Elden Ring 2, and Dark Souls 3 part two (not Dark Souls 4) I would def pick the latter. Best game ever.

The gameplay mechanics of DS3 have been hugely improved since DS2. The gameplay is the best in the series. You’re movement is smooth and fast, hit boxes are usually right on. Some of the best and most fun bosses are in this game. I love the boss fights that feel like a fast passed dance. Most bosses are challenging but very doable once you learn their move set. The early game zones are well done and fun to play through. Initially I was very impressed with this game. Get ready for my rant; It really falls apart with the fan service and poor inconsistency in storytelling. All the call backs get old after a wile. I love an Easter egg but they are too frequent and loose the effect. They overuse enemy ambushes to the point that they are predictable. Enemies have infinite stamina and will stun lock you until you die. Some of the late game optional bosses are difficult to the point of not being fun. When and if you beat them, instead of feeling accomplishment; your just glad it’s over. The DLC is disappointing and detracts instead of adding to the story. DLC is often hard for the sake of being hard instead of fun to play. On the whole DS3 encourages you to play one play style; strength build with a hard hitting weapon. Magic is generally weak and useless. Fast dexterity weapons just don’t do enough damage when you only have time for one hit; if you get hit it’s a good chance you will be killed via stun lock. The final boss is essentially just some guy that you know nothing about and has almost zero lore significance; in other words I neither felt nor cared about him. It’s a decent fight; but he’s about as significant to the story as a minor mini boss. This is my least favorite Dark Souls game. It’s the only one in the series that I haven’t replayed all the way through because after a certain point, I realize I’m not having fun. That being said I think this game has the best ending in the series (I won’t spoil it). I do enjoy helping other players with though bosses or just helping out with some my favorites. If you enjoy the Dark Souls series you should play it at least once. Who knows, it might be your favorite. Edit: After returning to this game and fighting Gale, I have to say my opinion has changed to be more positive. The Ringed City DLC really brought the story together and Slave Knight Gale was the cherry on top. As it turned out basically Gale is essentially the real final boss and is incredibly story significant. If you don’t know his boss fight is in many people’s opinion the best in the series and I’d have to agree. Three distinct fazes and each changes his move set, you will die a lot learning him but you revive just outside his boss arena. After finally finishing him off I wished I could jump back in and do it again. When you learn his movements much of the fight feels like a dance. Still not a 5 star game imo but I’m increasing my rating to 4.

Let me start out by saying if you don’t have this game in your Xbox collection you need to absolutely buy this game! I see some people are leaving negative reviews about “Dark Souls 3”. Let me make this very clear to anyone who is debating on buying this game. The ONLY reason someone would write a negative review about this game is very simple, they can’t handle a very hard, extreme, difficult gaming experience! This game is extremely hard, you will die over and over again! This game is the absolute overall gaming experience! Everything about this game is challenging and rewarding! This game came out in early 2016, and has better graphics than most games that are being released in 2019. The online community for this game is very populated, so you will always be able to link up with players for extreme/epic boss battles. If I could rate this game ten stars I would.
