Its a 4.5 inch total drop
I had to use it to tow a trailer or I would return it. its only a 4.5 inch drop not 8 inch like it claims. don't waste your money on this product.

well I sure wish I had read all the reviews. Not a true 8" drop. About a 5" max. Must return yet another Amazon sale.
