Coocheer Auto Darkening Welding Helmet With Solar Powered Adjustable MIG TIG ARC Professional Welding Mask(Devil) (Star)

This mask is great at being completely useless and risking serious damage to your eyes. I figured I'd roll the dice after reading the reviews and see if I got one that worked. Should've known better!I tried using this mask set to shade 13, with a 120V flux core welder set to '3' on its sheet metal setting, and using it for 5 minutes left me with hotspots in my vision that took a while to fade. Not only that, but the arc was too bright to even allow me to see my puddle at all.I warned my buddy about what was happening, and he tried wearing it while standing 5 feet away as I welded. Same problem. His harbor freight auto-dimming mask worked just fine.

If you're waiting for someone's review before you bite the bullet and buy a helmet, here it is. This is a great helmet for the cost. I would have paid twice this price if I new how well made this helmet was and how well it works. I have used it several times now instead of my older Miller and have not experienced any arch flash. Simple to set and use and I bought a second one for my eight year old grandson to watch me when I weld. I trust it.

I purchased this hood to do some flux core welding and needed at least a #11 shade. I tested the shade before use and noticed it did not become very dark. When compared to my set #10 shade it was much lighter even when set on #13. The shade only had two vertical lines that were even close to being as dark as my old #10 and the rest of the shade was closer to a #5. I struck an arc to see if it would darken further incase the issue was just with the test function. The shade did darken instantly, but it allowed way too much through and left me seeing spots for the rest of the day.

I wish it auto-darkened a little faster, but it is great value for the price. I just trained myself to blink when I press the trigger on the welder and by the time I open my eyes it has darkened.

great price works great. skeptical with 2 sensors instead of 4. Had no issues with blocked sensor. Hobbyist welder no professional.
