Stripped roof single layer shingles and tar paper took up 90% of the nails, great angle, comfortable

I used this tool for removing some old tar-backed paper shingle siding from my house, not for a roofing job. The tool worked great, the teeth grab whatever nails they hit, and either knock it flat, or you pry the nail out, and move on to the next one. A few comments about the tool: it is heavy. It has inertia to rip through nails and shingles with a good swing. I was using it at and above shoulder level for about 6 hrs, 2 days in a row, and could definitely feel the shoulders tiring. Also, the picture shows yellow, but mine was red.This is a solidly built tool, really nice to see good quality stuff being built in USA, at a reasonable price. Would fully recommend this for any roofing shingle or siding removal job.

Works great ,comfortable handle and good design

I'm not a roofing professional but I bought this to strip my house of two layers of shingles. I tried a garden fork and had fair results and of course it left all the nails. Then I tried this ProShingle rake. It is heavy but you want the weight to strip down to the sheathing. This tore of both layers of shingles, the felt paper and pulled up all the nails. I'm 67 years old, in good shape and I stripped 1/2 of my 32 foot garage in a day. I think this tool is great. Plus I managed to drop 4 pounds in the process.

i bought this to do my roof with 3 layer tear off.this tool worked great. was able to get the nails and shingles for the most part on the first pass. it is very well built very sturdy handle and the blade is able to be replaced easily when worn out.the only negative part i would have to say would be the handle length if it would have been 1 foot longer would have been the perfect 5 star roof rshingle remover by giving you just the right amount of leverage

ROOFER HERE FOR 20 YRS- This is the best shovel for ripping asphalt shingles, (also good for cleaning up carpet floors, all those staples) I dont understand the negative reviews... This is perfect for the job, start at the top of the roof and work your way down hitting every nail, the teeth are perfect and the angle makes it so easy on your back, Dont listen to the other reviews, if you use it properly and the way intended this thing is the best!!!

The total length from handle tip to the tip of the teeth is only 44 inches. This is shorter than I expected. I will keep it and try it out, but on a low slope roof I think this is going to be tiring on the back for a 6ft person like myself. The description says 50" but it is at least 6 inches shorter than that. Looks well made and I will update after I get to use the tool.

This worked awesome!! It is heavy duty and will definitely last for years. The handle is light to offset some of the weight. Made in the usa. Would definitely buy again.
