I cannot express strongly enough how terrible this product is. It's genuinely the worst value purchase I have made in my life. Below is a (by no means comprehensive) list of the problems I have with this product:1. Assembly. I have had to assemble all sorts of flat packs in my time. It's never fun, but in this case, this product is so poorly designed that it was almost unbearable to put it together. I am a handy person. I bought this to save myself some time on building a quail pen from scratch. Believe me when I tell you that NOTHING about the assembly of this product worked the way it should. The instructions are terrible and the pieces do not fit together properly. I saw how weak some of the connections were and supplemented them with zip ties. Unfortunately, my own structural additions weren't sufficient to keep the thing from falling apart. More on that later.2. Quality. Once assembled, it was very clear that the quality of this product is just terrible. Every part felt like it was made of the cheapest possible material. The structural integrity of the whole thing relies on friction fittings and a few screws.3. The Watering System. Each of the sections of the cage only has one water nipple in it. They are made of terrible quality materials and are prone to clogging up. I found this out the hard way when an entire cage full of quail suddenly dropped dead. In addition to the clogs and constant maintenance requirements of the nipples, the tubing itself is made of extremely brittle plastic. Two entire layers of the cage were rendered useless when the thin plastic ruptured and began to leak. I was able to jerry-rig the whole thing to hold water only in the top-most layer.4. The Egg Rollout. The eggs do not roll out of the front as designed. This is because the overall fit is very poor and the feed tray blocks the eggs from escaping. This meant that all of my eggs were filthy, defeating the purpose of this whole thing.5. Structural Integrity. The biggest complaint I have about this product is that it completely collapsed and killed a bunch of my quail. This happened without warning and despite my best efforts to shore up the cage's structural integrity. Because the water tank sits on top and off to one side, there is a substantial amount of torque on the cage at any given time. In order for the watering system to work, you have to have the tank quite full. Eventually, the whole thing collapsed and my quail were crushed and soaked. Only a handful survived.Again, I cannot say strongly enough how disappointed I am with this product. Please, for the sake of your livestock and your sanity, don't buy this.

I have read all the reviews and chatted with my friends that have these cages. I purchased the 3 tier and have a brooder on top as my fourth row….Initially when My wife and I started assembly It was confusing, dont bother trying to understand the minimal one sheet of paper with limited pictures for assembly…get on the website “hatchingtime.com”, or just look it up on utube. Take your time and follow it step for step. I usually have no issues assembling things but needed this video, especially being new to this “hobby” lol. But it is very important u follow the video to make sure arrows are aligned properly or sides will not fit properly. We had to disassemble half of ours because we thought we had it right, then went to video and found out why our sides did not fit when putting the cages together in the row. All 3 interconnect and holes are set up for it.Make sure u have a good razor knife, pliers, wire cutter, and drill w/ large phillips bit #2 can be used but its going to strip your heads so no chance of disassembling in future if needed. Mallet or hammer, just be easier w hammer thats what I used.Assembly was awkward but got the hang of it, some pieces were warped and need to make sure pegs are lined up before applying pressure/hammer.Some trimming will be needed w knife to clear holes and cut some ends with the snips.BIGGEST issue I have is the watering system. I can see how it is supposed to work and the intension of the operation but assembly from the “plant” was shady. The red end caps and red T water caps are only secured in by 2 rubber gaskets and most of them pinched and caps were not seated securely which caused water leaks. There is no shut off valve so if one part leaks you have to address the whole system. So quality check and make sure all end caps are snug fit etc. BIG Pain in the rearend. Mine is still leaking some after reworking it and using sealant in places because I already had birds and needed to get them in the cages. I am still checking on the water valves some seam intermittent. But been hesitant to fully fill reservoir ref getting leaks fixed once and for all.GOOD note: I sent email to company and they are sending me all new end caps so I can install them right. Very satisfied with company supportIts a bit pricey for the quality in my opinion. However, with what it is going to provide for me in regards to a one stop shop, it makes my life easier for upkeep. Space, cleaning, food, water, and egg rollout in this unit. I have had no issues w eggs as of yet but its not a big ordeal.Lastly, depending how you see this, the bottom cages are a pain. I have knee issues and the bottom cages are almost on the ground. With them stacked and waste tray on u cannot see inside the cages unless you squat or hands and knees. If you lift it up it would be great w a 3 tier, but a 5 tier would be way to high in my opinion. So do you save money buying the biggest 5/6 tier because each tier is about 100 when you divide it, but by themselves are 225 plus? Im probably going to build a table take wheels off and raise it, And have a bottom shelf for food/supplies.BROODER: I really like it, same water issues, bit more clean up because matted floor with chicks but cover the matts because they are awkward to install and remove, so Im using paper towels, might try puppie training pads but worried about chicks pecking it. Wish it came with temp gauge had to buy one, adjustment on heater is confusing. Dial is number 0-40 in 10 increments. 10-20-30-40?My chicks are just about a week, here in NC 35 puts me about 90 degrees.Look at you situation and go from there.Hope this helps

These quail cages by hatching time are pretty much the gold standard for quail hobbyists. There are even professionals who use this system! Search them on YouTube or other sites and you will see nothing but positive reviews.The company offers top notch support and stands behind their product.I understand that the included instructions are garbage. Hatching time has made very easy to understand and follow videos that will answer any questions.You shouldn't need to add zip ties to keep this thing together. I'm guessing you didn't line up the arrows correctly if you have to do this. I own several of these setups for both quail and chickens and I would not buy anything else!

So the concept of the pen is great! Love the fact that it keeps the eggs clean, easy clean up for poop, and less mess, but not sure how well it's going to work. The product itself feels very cheap and definitely not worth $500, but the thing that really got me was the legs do not properly fit together 😔. The metal pieces stop the legs from being inserted and there are no holes for the screws to go through. So either you sacrifice the support bars or have it looking crazy. Also the water system is the nipples and not sure my quail will drink it but we will find out soon. Overall, definitely not worth the price but I love the concept they were aiming for.
