How many pages should we get out of each high capacity cartridge?

I am not sure as it is my husband’s printer. I do feel that Epson cartridges get less pages than other printers. I seem to be ordering ink for him more often than me. So I would order the larger cartridges because the smaller ones will just have you ordering more often.
