You need to calibrate the tester
After reading the reviews, I’m surprised this diamond tester actually works. It’s important to read the instructions carefully and calibrate the tester sensitivity to the size of stone being tested and ambient air temperature. I’m giving it 4/5 stars because even though it works, the battery cover doesn’t click back on when there is a battery inside, which is disappointing. I have not figured out how to focus the 60x loupe correctly yet.

Don’t waste your money on this crap
Do not buy as this is extremely faulty. The metal tip/tester was bent, and when touched against anything, goes back up into the box! Don’t waste your money on this product

It has nice feature, but testing diamond jade fake jade, cz, crystal reads the same, I turned it to 2, on fake jade and genuine jade they both read at a 5 I believe it's suppose to read at 6 or 7 for a genuine it doesn't tell what green means and yellow means? Only that red is for Diamond. If anyone knows how this works I would sure like to know before I decide to return this, it has instructions how to care for it, but don't tell much of color and numbers what they mean...
