The original NiCad batteries (or the charger) for my B&D cordless driver (FP800) gave up the ghost years ago. I hated the thought of trashing the tool, as it was well suited to the light driving and drilling tasks I used it for. I decided to see if there was a replacement for the NiCad Versapack batteries. Found these 3.6V Li-Ion batteries with charger and figured I'd try. We'll, for, fit & function are on the spot, and my driver now works fine. For my purposes, this was a good buy, and I'll be dropping the old batteries off at the big-box retailer for recycling.

Excellent power solution for our hand held vacuum cleaner. More power and longer lasting charge versus other similar products. Fit and finish as original product.

These Li batteries are half the weight, more capacity, and longer life than original NiCd batteries. After several years of fairly regular use around the house, mostly in my B&D screwdriver, one got stuck in the charger and the end pulled apart. Had to pull the cap out with pliers. The plastic terminal holder which broke was hard and brittle. I have dropped the screwdriver several times from 6 ft, usually landing on the battery end. I have many VersaPak tools, mostly bought cheap at thrift stores, so will buy the 4-pack Li batteries w/ charger. Good that the batteries are still made, and now in Li. Note, you need the special charger to fully charge these Li batteries (have 1 already).

I'm glad to have these to breath new life into my old B&D cordless screwdriver. The charger works great, but you need your own power supply. Any wall-wart with a USB-A port should work. I was looking at getting a new cordless screwdriver sold by the fluorescent yellow brand "R", but their offering doesn't have the clutch feature that my old B&D screwdriver has, and by reviews is not as powerful, so I passed on it. That's when it hit me to see if aftermarket batteries are available for the B&D, and thus I now have these! I've seen reviews of batteries fitting tightly in the tools. I agree that these fit tightly, but it doesn't take much to remove the battery. I think with use the label material will wear down and allow for easier removal. The only con is that these do not come with new battery safety caps for storage. The caps prevent other tools from short circuiting the battery. Including new caps would be a good differentiator for a brand to make their batteries more attractive (note to manufacturer).

These batteries charge and work well in tools that need versapak batteries.

The charger and batteries arrived after a week, well packaged and in the mailbox. The charger worked well and was plugged into a wall USB port. Once charged, which didn’t take very long, powered my drill just like it just like the drill was new. I am very satisfied with this replacement battery and charger.
