The Food Safety Book: What You Don't Know Could Kill You

Just received the book and flipped through it. Much more than I expected in a paperback.The book covers how to choose food, how long you can store food, how to store food etc. A necessary item for every kitchen.

Time he moved out on his own. Hopefully he won’t give himself food poisoning.

I went to two cooking schools. I am ServeSafe certified. This book is great and easy to use.

A great book for learning about food safety. Even home chefs need this book.

Sorry for the 3 Stars. I just can't get into reading if I don't see pictures. I flipped through it quickly and saw one useful thing that is if you keep your yogurt upside down in the reftidgerator it will last longer. I gave the book to my granddaughter who appreciated it.

I received this book for my honest opinionThis is a wonderful reference book for those who are away from home for the first time. Heck even I am using this as a reference book and I am a stay at home mom who has been cooking for a family of six. (2 adults 4 pickie eating kids)The other day I was looking at the package of hot dog sitting in the frig unopened and I was wondering how long can they be like that? Will they go bad if I don't open them? If they are opened how long to I have before they go bad? I realized I had no idea. All I knew was that hot dogs needed to boil or be cooked to 165 degrees before eating.I grabbed the book and quickly looked it up and found what I was looking for. I found what I had been questioning about lunch meats as well. I will be better able to prepare family lunches and dinners know what is still good and what has gone bad. It will save us lots of money because I don't be throwing away as much food thinking it has gone bad.No saying my kids won't still wait food because they will but I don't.I plan on giving this book away to all my friends who kids are graduating from college, new parents and newlyweds.I am so happy I was able to review this awesome reference guide to food prep, keeping my kitchen clean and knowing if my kids get sick it wasn't my kitchen for food fault if I follow this guide.

No more guessing or spending a bunch of time searching the web! If I have doubts about some item in the fridge or pantry, now I can just look it up in this one book and be sure I'm getting well-researched information. I'm always referencing it to see how to ripen produce, store fresh herbs, read expiration dates and more. Since I hate to waste food, before I would often find myself just crossing my fingers and eating things that were outdated or looking a little brown around the edges. But now I feel I can make educated decisions, plus the information on foodborne illness is a real eye-opener!

This is biased for the U.S. market. I expected information on non-processed food, not the stuff you get in the supermarket. Also, this seemed to be a compilation of various sources of information rather than a well thought out book about food storage.

Very easy to understand

Authors used simple but clear way to introduce the food safety you should know in your daily life.I would say it's an essential guide for every household.
