Old Mountain Pre Seasoned Square Skillet with Assist Handle, 10.5-inch Length

Fair item for the price, but your better off getting the lodge one, I bought this due to the shape because I can stack this with paper towels between with my existing cast iron.The casting is very poor, and the finish work is non-existant. This is the most porus and rough food cookware casting ive seen.....Harbor freight would do a better job.....I would not buy again.

THE INSIDE WAS ROUGH, CASTING DIMPLES FOR MOLD, PROBABLY TO COURSE OF SAND WAS USED. I TOOK MY ROTARY SANDER AND A FEW SANDING DISKS TO IT, AFTER 30 MINUTES IT WAS USABLE. I RE SEASONED IT WITH CRISCO AND NOW ITS USABLE,. I LIKE FRIED POTATO PANCAKES AND THE OLD FINISH WOULD MAKE THEM STICKS LIKE CONCRETE TO BOTTOM, NOW I CAN FLIP THEM WITHOUT TEARING THEM FROM PAN. NOT A GREAT FINISH BUT THERE CHEAP.

This is smaller than indicated. It measures 10" from rim-to-rim, and the bottom cooking area is 8" x 8".UPDATE: the edges of the frying area are lower than the center so cooking oil tens to gather along the edges. This means you have to keep scooping it to the middle. Or use a deeper layer.

I am disappointed with this skillet. I do not like it. The picture shows the pan is smooth inside, but the skillet I received has ridges inside. I wanted a skillet with a smooth inside to bake cornbread.

My wife is really into cooking with cast iron and this filled her bill. She has regular round ones but always wanted a square pan. I like that it had instructions for seasoning. I usually just wing it but I am going by the instructions on this one.
