So many boards and pieces! Love it!
I received these boards a few days ago but for some reason, unlike my other purchases, this one didn't have the option to leave a review on my "order details" page, which may be why there are so few available to read, maybe buyers aren't given the option to review so they don't bother. I was nervous about this purchase as there were unclear and conflicting reviews, so after seeing what these sets include, I felt it's important to clarify the details. (One person said they only received one board, while others said they had more than one.) The most specific review available here was old. So I figure a newer one is due! That said, this set is awesome. It's sold elsewhere for $130+, and from what I can tell, they're almost identical except this set has an extr story board set! (For a total of 5 boards with story pieces for each--talk about a deal!) The boards and pieces were in good condition, with the exception of a couple of animals missing facial details from the gingerbread man story. Nothing a marker or felt pen can't fix. Each storyboard set comes with 40-50 pieces for that story. Now this includes little details like shoes, hair, clothing, dishes, clouds, etc. So for an older child this is awesome as there's more to do and more options. I'd also say the pieces and characters all go well together so you could even mix and use interchangeably to make new looks and stories! If you have very small children be warned tiny pieces could be choking hazards and there are a few in each set. But those pieces could be removed, glued on, or affixed using mini glue dots (also sold in amazon), which hold very well, but aren't permanent, so you can pull them off when the kids are older. My only complaint is that the pieces aren't that clingy which is a bummer, but they do stick together with some extra effort here and there. (Just not the best I've seen.) But they work, and with all you get for the money, I'm very pleased!

Probably my favorite toy purchase from Amazon, EVER... so versatile, great for teaching, and even better for pure FUN!
I was a bit hesitant to buy this, because the product photo was a bit fuzzy so it was hard to know exactly what you were getting, there was only one review at the time, and it wasn't available through Prime. I'm thrilled that I took a chance on it, though, because this has turned out to be one of the most fun and versatile toys I've ever bought. As the (very bad low-res) picture shows, you do get five complete sets, each with its own felt board. At first this may seem redundant, as three of them are the same (blue sky and green grass) and the other two are identical "indoor" scenes, but this comes in handy when you have several children who may want to play with them. Also, it's convenient to store each story's pieces with a different felt board so you don't inadvertently mix the pieces up (though you will very likely *want* to mix them up... more on that in a bit). I am storing them in 2-gallon Ziploc freezer bags, which holds one felt board and all its pieces perfectly. The wonderful thing about these sets are all the cute details... each character is dressed in a multilayered felt outfit, complete with details like shoes, aprons, and even a top hat for the wolf (a wolf in a top hat... how cute is that?!). A reviewer on another site complained that there were too many small pieces, and she ended up gluing the outfits together onto the characters. That's certainly a possibility, especially if you're using these for storytelling to a group (e.g. preschool or storytime at the library) and don't want to be bothered with having to replace things like a shoe that slips off.Personally, I love the fact that there are layered pieces so that you can mix-and-match and act out details like Goldilocks eating porridge with a spoon. (After all, how would the fox impersonate Red Riding Hood's grandmother if he couldn't don her dress and nightcap?) So many felt board sets have detailed characters printed onto pieces of flimsy felt... but part of the charm of felt boards is the richness of layering pieces together, so I'm very glad that this is constructed the way it is. If you have young children or simply don't want to be bothered with too many layers, but don't want to "ruin" the set by hot-gluing things together, you could always have the animal characters (the three bears, three pigs, etc.) go "nude" and leave the shoes off of the human characters (the shoes are the only pieces that I could see giving any trouble).Another great reason NOT to glue pieces together is that with these five sets, you truly have pieces for entirely different stories, songs, and rhymes. Use the overalls from the Little Red Hen, put them on the hunter from Red Riding Hood, and pair him with the barn and farm animals from the Gingerbread Man, and you have everything you need for Old MacDonald. The possibilities truly are endless. (And if you happen to need a piece that's not part of one of the sets, take a few seconds to cut it out from a 23-cent piece of felt from the craft store!) I had been planning to make a weather-themed felt board for my kids, with a sun, clouds, etc. Well, now I don't have to... I can use the sun from the Little Red Hen, clouds, etc., and all I need to do is cut out some raindrops and I've got a perfect weather felt set! Or you could teach the seasons using the trees... light green leaves for spring, the apple tree for summer, and the bare tree for winter... all you'd need to do is cut out some fall leaves from a piece of red, orange, or yellow felt. My mind is spinning with all the teaching possibilities with these felt pieces.Truly, the best thing about these sets is the possibility for open-ended play. You (I mean your children! ;) ) can create entire worlds and endless new stories with these characters and scenes. I plan to buy a yard of felt and cover a piece of foam board with it, so that we have a larger felt board to work with. The 13"x15" ones that come with the sets are great for family/homeschool use or library circle time, but I agree with the first reviewer that you'd want something larger in a big classroom setting.Bottom line: This is an adorably CUTE set of felt sets that is perfect whether you use it as a storytime or music aid or let children use it for free play, whether you have an only child or a house full of kids, boys or girls, of pretty much any age. (My 24-month-old son is already loving playing with a pared-down one I gave him to play with... I just put the three bears, little house with fence, the apple tree, and a few flowers on the board for him so he didn't lose any pieces... he loves it! and as for upper age limit, let's just say that Mommy has been having more "playing" with this than my toddlers have!) Considering this brand of felt sets sell for anywhere from $9 to $32, FIVE sets for $35 is amazing. I would consider this a must-have for anyone with children, any library storyteller, and any preschool and kindergarten!

You should get 5 boards! I did.
I was nervous about ordering because of recent reviews saying that you only get one storyboard, so I want to confirm that I got the full set! They’re super cute. Make sure to reach out to Amazon if you only get one board, because you should be getting what’s advertised.

Nice set
These flannel stories are great and they come with lot of detailed felt images; I just wish the board was bigger because if your inside of a classroom with more than 10 children, you will hear complaining because they will not be able to see. I also wish they recommended a book to go with each flannel board.

Can be adapted for use with young children
I bought two of these sets for my 1 year old grandchildren. I also bought each child board book versions of the classic stories to go with each story. Of course, since my grandchildren are very young (15 months and a week short of 12 months respectively), they only get a few pieces to play with at a time, but after I read or their parents read a story to them, we get out the flannel boards and do the, "Can you put the shirt on the pig?" type pf thing etc. It is a way of expanding the experience.

Great for pre-schoolers!
It comes with a great number of pieces and kept my 5-year-old granddaughter occupied for hours. Her 3-year-old sister and 2-year-old brother loved playing with it, too. This is a great value, since you really do get a lot of pieces for the price.

nice
these are really nice. suggest putting pieces in big ziploc or you risk maddening piece hunt for each story. these are nice quality and good rainy day fun

large board, lots of pieces, no storage bag/box included
Lots of pieces....Definitely too many to fit on the board at one time, even though the boards are pretty large. After opening, you'll need a large storage bag (bigger than 1 gallon) to store the board along with the pieces. (You could just put the pieces in a smaller baggie and store it near the board, though.)It did keep my two kids (3 year old son and 5 year old daughter) entertained for a bit (One board per child to prevent shoving and "fighting".)Not bad.... but not amazing. The lack of box or storage bag is annoying.

Great Stories to Tell.
Like the product as have stories that I know and they each have their own flannel board. Will be using them for storytimes. Thanks.

No good
They don't stick to the board. Not enough felt on the back, they keep falling off.
