A MUST READ FOR ANYONE IN A CULT!!!
Growing up as a JW from an early age, this was sadly the only life I knew and believed. It has affected every aspect of my life being brainwashed by the JW cult. I served as a pioneer and married an elder. I kept waiting for Armageddon which was supposed to bring forth a paradise earth where I could finally be happy and live my life to the fullest. It never came. What a beautiful book that exposes Jehovah’s Witnesses as a cult and discusses their beliefs and teachings in depth. It’s shockingly accurate in details. I hope many who are on the fence read this and get out!! As this book describes, there is so much happiness and love outside of this cult! A touching true story that shows how beautiful life is with freedom from exiting a cult.

It's colorful, it's sassy, & it's an accurate pictorial essay of Jehovah's Witness life. Excellent!
First, I'd like to say that when Amazon asks "Add a written review" - they couldn't know how triggering this phrase is to a former Jehovah's Witness. As children, we grew up attending 5 meetings per week and had periodic "written reviews" to ingrain into our brains everything we had learned in the past weeks, question and answer style.Natalie's "Cult Girls" introduces a sassy and colorful cast of characters interwoven with a classic collection of these triggering JW phrases like "announced", "marked", "the current magazines", "two witnesses", "stumbled", "privileges", "worldly men", "earthly hope", "treacherous heart", "part on the assembly", "witness to him", "good standing", "scripturally free", "local needs", "publisher card", "loose conduct", and many more. These expressions are like a fingerprint that identifies the author as a genuine ex-cult member who lived and breathed life as a Jehovah's Witness, with all the restrictions and repressions. Natalie gives the world snippets of what it's like to be a female JW in a religion controlled entirely by men. There are many great ex-Jehovah's Witness books out there, but Natalie has brought the world the first beautifully illustrated graphic novel. It's a must-have!

An eye opening, amazingly easy to read story of life in a religious cult.
While we all are probably aware of the JW religious group, a great many of us are probably totally unaware of the total subjugation, or at least the attempted total subjugation of the female members. This well written and beautifully illustrated book was an eye opener for me. I have known and worked with several JWs in my life, both male and female and had no idea of the way females in that religion are treated. I applaud that Talia and her friends have taken charge of their lives and learned to make those lives more satisfactory and fulfilling for themselves. That choice in many ways cost them dearly. To lose communication in any form with parents and siblings and a whole community must be painful but the rewards of freeing oneself from forced marriage and oppression are well worth it. I heartily recommend the book to anyone, it is eye opening.

Fantastic read! Excellent art!!
Being an exjw myself this was another excellent read!! I totally lived the same kind of story myself so felt a lot of the same emotions as the main character. Love the art and color!!! Beautiful work on all points!! And very educational for those who were not brought up in the cult!!

Eye-opening and Inspirational!
This is an incredible and very relatable story for those who either have had experiences with the cult in this book, or even those in toxic groups/organizations. I personaly have found out as an adult about cousins I never even knew about because of shunning practices from this cult! I highly recommend this inspiring book as it was very comforting to hear I that am not alone. Great Book! 🤗

Lovely book about leaving a cult
This book arrived on time and undamaged.I really enjoyed the story. Any former jehovahs witness woman could relate to it. It's very female focused but does a great job of explaining the unique perspective of a woman trapped in a patriarchal religion. I felt the two pages describing shunning where a really great way of explaining the practice to a person who has no knowledge of the practice. It was an empowering book with a happy ending for all of the main characters involved.

What a great read!
This graphic/comic book style story is true and accurate about growing up and dating in the Watchtower organization. That said the beautiful book also has a flawless artistic vibe. I enjoy the drawings so much I wish there were Cult Girls tee shirts ( women 2x please) mugs and a coloring book. It was fantastic! I cannot recommend it enough! Thank YOU!

Bought it, cried and then bought 2 more for my friends
I love this book! Religion aside this is a beautifully illustrated graphic novel and great story telling. I grew up in the JW religion and so many of the stories shared are relatable to anyone who grew up as a woman in a high control doomsday cult. I encourage everyone to read it: POMO, PIMO, POMI, PIMQ, even those who have never been a Jehovah's Witness or have family members who are.

An amazing and touching story about life as a JW
I absolutely adored everything about this book, from the story to the artwork! The point-of-view from sisters is not often shared because the organization is a very patriarchal-based religion (cult) so it was refreshing to read a story from this perspective.Thank you for sharing your story! I am sure it will help many others with their escape, or better yet, prevent them from joining in the first place!

Excellent
Such a creative way to tell your personal experience in the cult. This is such a good book for someone who is curious about what ex-JWs have/had to deal with when sadly they still have relatives involved with the cult.I was able to relate to the author's experience, as I personally decided to part ways with this cult a few years ago. Love how it makes it very clear that they are lovely people when they want to convert you, but as soon as you "rebel" you become their worse enemy. While reading this book it really made me think how was I ever involved with these people and how toxic they are. I'm so relived and thankful that I was able to leave, and my family also decided to leave with me.

A hilarious and accurate depiction of a woman’s life inside the Jehovah’s Witnesses
This book is a collection of scenes that could take place in any Jehovah’s Witnesses woman’s life. If you were one are still are one, you will laugh at every single scene in the book because you have seen it happen in every Kingdom Hall. I loved every story. The drawings are wonderfully done too!

Refreshingly original and beautifully designed
An innovative, bright, glossy and funny take on an otherwise harrowing experience of living as and then leaving a very controlling cult called Jehovah's Witnesses. Many of us can recall the same awkwardness and confusion of leaving this strange lifestyle.Natalie handles some dark subjects with great humour without glossing over the trauma and the general confusion, loss of personality and loneliness of coming out of this controlling cult. The graphics are bright and refreshingly beautiful and so well designed and drawn.Such a unique project. Very well accomplished

Entertaining summary of life in the cult of Jehovah’s Witnesses
This is a great easy read for anyone interested in the insular culture and life of an every day Jehovah’s Witness. I would especially recommend it for anyone considering joining the organization or for kids raised inside
