Light in hand, not too sharp for cleaning.

I used to be a dental assistant. I was hoping that this scaler would be like the one I used. However it’s just not sharp enough nor thin enough to clean your teeth with .

I bought this because my other dental pick on the left and the picture I dropped it one too many times on the ground and the tip snapped off. This one is very similar, but it is thinner or the other one was little bit thicker and a little bit easier to hold. The dental pics are essential for cleaning underneath the gum line and getting rid of black that is hardened and turned into calculus which irritates the gums. The most important thing is don’t overdo it. I would not use it more than once a week at the most and don’t get too aggressive because you can damage your teeth. I also highly recommend the pic tool that has a rubber tip. That’s what I use every night and I supplement that with this.

If I could only give zero stars! The scaler BENT as I was removing the rubber guard from the tip. I was barely squeezing the rubber piece. The metal is way too soft and could not even handle light scaling. It was dull, not sharp at all. Poor quality, very disappointed! I do not recommend buying this brand.
