Q: Can I use this as a leader and tie it to my braided line? What size would be good for the surf?

I tied it to my braided line via swivel. I use the 21.7 with two arms for bottomfishing and bait with two pieces of cut squid. The 13.8 inch with a single arm would probably work well for surf fishing, I would worry about tangles with the two arms and casting. these are really great, I haven't had any issues with them coming apart.

Q: anyone know of a good way to store them in tackle bag. seems to be a cluster---- the following year?

I store in a smaller container that I place in my one of my tackle bags. But I don't rig them up til they are needed.

The bottom hook is for weight. The short line for bait. I use this rig for catfishing, and bass. Never tried it for bass. Sorry
