Fresh my dogs favorite

My dog trainer recommended this brand as a ‘medium level’ treat. The ‘low level’ treat recommendations were milkbones and a ‘high level’ treat being something like cheese or a hot dog. These were great to bring on walks or just to use in the house for training when milkbones didn’t do the trick or to mix it up. My dogs absolutely love them. They have a real stinky smell which is probably why they like them so much. They are a good small size, I even break them in half when I need to do a lot of training. One downside is they are very soft and chewy so if you put them in your pocket, it can get very messy. I would recommend a designated fanny pack for dog treats or using a plastic bag for walks. Again, they are excellent for training if your dogs are food-motivated. I also sometimes mix it with peanut butter and add to their Kong.

There is no doubt this food has great ingredients and is an easy way to "go raw." Unfortunately, of my three dogs, only one can or will eat it. The first one hated it. He clearly didn't like the taste and it was actually hard for him to chew. I have to admit, it is tough. So tough you can't even tear a piece in half. The second one liked the food, but shortly ended up with poop that looked like sticky tar, stuck all over his butt. The third one likes it, has no problems, and is finishing the bag. But 30% acceptance for dog food this expensive is not what I want.

My dog loves this food and I love that's made in New Zealand; where they have higher standards. However, my dog (Jack Russell) is really slow to finish the mackerel and lamb flavor, which might be too rich for him. He eats the chicken and beef flavors way faster.

My two dogs loves this dog food. The last three time that I purchased this food it was moist and seemed more fresh but this time it was very dry and bridle. I would of rated this a 5 star but not when its so dry and hard. This food is not cheap it on the high end of dog food chain. I hope that this was just a one off and I receive fresh bag every time I buy this dog food. I would hate to start searching for a different dog food.
